Our greeting was a bit cold due to the fact that they were busy and trying to follow Covid regulations.
After being seated it took a bit of time to get drinks but once it started service was very good and attentive. The food was very good and one could discern that the stocks and sauces were homemade.
The appetizers and main courses were well spaced out and wine service was attentive.
Honestly a very nice evening out in Bruxelles.

We visited Brussels for a very short amount of time and wanted to try this restaurant, but it was really fully booked all the time.
We decided to try our luck and successfully booked a table for the last day of our trip.
Boy am I grateful we did that.
This was the best restaurant we tried in Brussels.
We were actually late and we were still welcomed warmly and were taken to a beautiful table upstairs.
The waiter was super professional, had perfect English which was helpful, and the food was really delightful after a few lesser experiences of tourist traps around Brussels..
We focused on starters, so we've ordered the Small pot of Saint James scallops with mushrooms, Gamberoni, Timbale of seafood, and 6 hollow oysters.
The quality of the food, the beauty of the dishes, and the service was just unbeatable.
Thank you for this experience that sealed our trip perfectly!

Reservations a must . Situated on the corner on one of the main pedestrian passages full of restaurants to suit all budgets
Tables available outside but we choose to eat away from the passing tourist traffic
Calm friendly atmosphere with multi-lingual serving staff . Menu in 3 languages
We went to have ‘Moules! ‘ and weren’t disappointed .
Cold ham salad to start ( enormous )
Moules Beautifully cooked in a white wine sauce ,followed by a shared dessert of ice cream , cream and hot chocolate sauce !
Offered a complimentary liquer to finish the evening off ( lovely touch and graciously accepted )
You can have Moules anywhere and everywhere in Brussels but this restaurant has style and finesse

One day trip to Brussels and beforehand made a reservation; the entire week was fully booked except this day. What a luck!
What a good choice I have made; atmosphere was very cosy and relaxing and the food was amazing. The foie gras was only meant for one person as a starter, but could easily shared with more. Price and quality perfectly in balance! Also the details and gestures count the most; thank you for your excellent service, Kasper! Much appreciated and keep up the good work ;)

Excellent ambience and the staff were good My experience didnt detract from the enjoyment we experienced as a group. I have noticed in Brussels generally, that the chefs are not as diligent as they should be when tasting and plating up, and in a world where the quality of the ingredients is not as reliable as it should be, as is often the case wih cod,, just remember its travelled an awful long way to get to Belgium and its probably a lot more tired than you, take nothing for granted. The fact they didn't charge for my meal is a re assurance that they take their establishment seriously and there was no animosity from any side, which is good ,because no one is perfect and mistakes happen.

The location could not be more perfect as you tourist your way through the city. Placed right at the intersection of a fantastic narrow walking street and the Galeries Royale Saint Hubert it is a surprisingly quiet meal. We sat outside in the walking street as we arrived without reservations (reservations would be recommended) and had to wait a little while to be seated. The menu is very large and we inquired with our waiter to narrow down our main selections but also to just push us into the right direction for our starter and desserts. Excellent recommendations. For starters, I would strongly recommend the oven baked tray of mussels. A different preparation than we have had before and simply decadent. So tasty!! We went with some traditional European dishes and chose the duck breast and the rabbit leg options. Both were wonderful – perfectly prepared and seasoned as well as paired with some flavorful sides. The gratin potatoes with the duck were particularly good. Our dessert to top of the meal was a fantastic crepe with apples and vanilla ice cream. The atmosphere is energetic, the service fantastic and the prices are very reasonable for the quality – all served up in a perfectly central location.

We had an outstanding dinner on a Tuesday night - food, ambience, service, all top notch. Good menu including 3 course meals and a la carte, nice wine/drink list. Reservations strongly recommended - they were politely turning away a steady stream of people during our 2+ hour meal, and the place was close to full when we left at 10. Many had warned us away from the 'tourist trap' restaurants on Rue des Bouchers, but Le Marmiton is not one of those - clientele seemed more local and business than tourists when we were there. Highly recommended.

Whilst visiting Brussels for my wife's birthday we headed here for dinner as we were staying nearby. Despite comments in some reviews we found the food to be good and the service helpful and friendly. For starters we had cheese croquettes and snails in garlic butter. Both of these were tasty with the garlic butter with snails especially good. We both had Flemish stew which came with chips which were the only disappointment of the night as they were not like Belgian Frites and more like English style chips. The beef stew however was excellent. Could not manage dessert as we were too full.

The food here was incredible. Truly one of the best Belgian meals I’ve had on the trip. We ordered the escargot as a starter, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. My husband got the mussels, I got the salmon. It’s been a week and my husband and I are still raving to our friends about this place. The waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable. She suggested the perfect wine. Highly recommend!

The restaurant is located in the corner of the Saint-Hubert gallery and the rue des bouchers, which is a very touristic area. Because of that I was a bit concerned it would be a tourist trap. And, for sure, it is NOT! The food was excellent (I had the mussels with white wine) and the service was fast and pleasant. If I had more days in Brussels, I’d certainly go back!

My family of 3 and I popped in on 5/25 for dinner. The server did not write down our appetizers and dinner order and, of course, the plates were not correct. My daughters salad was missing, my mixed green vegetable salad had a raw mussel in it. My order of duo fish with shrimp came out as a cod only dish when it should have been sea bream and salmon with shrimp. The replacement dish had no salmon and the fish tasted like old fishy sardines. I ate the vegetables and left the fish. The server didn’t comment on the fish left untouched. Service was slow and inattentive. Overall, the worst meal Ihave had in Brussels.

If you can get a seat in this place you will have a great evening and super food for reasonable price. Go for the menu , always fresh and good price. The wines are not on the cheap side but as everything else is almost perfect.... wine is optional ;-)
Do not forget to make a reservation... walk inns are almost impossible

Very central and close to the Grand Place. The restaurant is on two floors, the upper being reached by a metal spiral staircase! The staff are excellent and default to English for visitors. The croquette starter and speculoos based ice cream desert were excellent as was the Delirium beer. The lost star is due to the mussel main which had the most broken mussels I’ve ever come across. The sauce was tasty but all the fragmented shells were a pain. I’d come again and order one of the other Belgian specialities!

The food was nicely prepared and presented. Had the menu marmiton - salmon starter needed a bit more salt but otherwise good. The veal was cooked just right. Cheese plate was a bit monotonous/mono-flavoured. Husband had the duck confit - huge portion. Skin could have been crispier. Overall good value. Only complaint was that our waitress was rather surly.

We spotted this restaurant during our first walk through the Royal Galleries & could see that it was a popular place. Asked at our hotel, the well-situated Hilton Grand Place, to make a reservation for us for the following night and were told it was completely full. Since that was to be our last night of a 2 week trip, I asked them to try again the next day for any time in case of a cancellation. When we returned from our day in Ghent, we learned that we had a table from 6 - 8 PM. Surprisingly, the tables remained empty except for 1 other person at 6 PM when they open. My suggestion is if unable to secure a later, more popular time, try for 6 PM. We had gracious service (though reserved), and the food was very good. The sauce on my duck breast was excellent but what was truly spectacular was the dessert - an apple crepe with Calvados flambe and ice cream. Memorable.
