We were there for lunch last Thursday and the quality of the food served was outstanding...
You got first some Amuses-Bouche from the grill... so tasty
Salmon on celeri and carrots with Parsley sauce as a starter, it was light but so tasty. Main was Coucou de Malines, local poultry cooked on bbq served with gambas, the meat was prepared to perfection and so juicy... just prefect!
Dessert was a special from the Chef, type of fillo pastry with creme patissiere. Excellent!
We did start with a glass of Champagne and the red wine was a very good Malbec.
One of the best lunch I had in Brussels for a very long time.

If it had only been the kitchen, I would have given it an "average" rating. But there is all the context. “The Avenue” restaurant is located in the Barsey Hotel. A modern, cozy, very classy decor with an open fire and comfortable seats. The public is also refined. In summer, interior terrace. The welcome is charming, even friendly, not at all stuffy. The lunch was a little disappointing: my 4 prawns (on a tasteless green mousse) were starving and looked more like shrimp; for the Coucou de Malines chicken, the two fillets were soft with a delicious mustard sauce but - as too often - the accompaniment was limited to 1 fine asparagus, 3 mini green beans, 1 mini portion of cauliflower and 5 fries. We had coffee at the bar, which was very nice. I will still go back for another test.

A beautiful sun shines on the Warwick terrace,
as well as in its large special exhibitions,
where a pyrotechnic show is played out, in silence.

I ordered this dish duck and was super salty , was there with some friends and surprised that my accomodation was at the hotel where the restaurant is so my friend got a discount for their meal of 20 % but me no . Asked the reception guy he said you are entitled for one discount for one dish even I am staying at the same place paying same amount of money for double room I was not entitled for a treat
Maybe if the food was good I wouldn't mind much but it was so poorly cooked . The meat of the duck was chewy and too salty

Unfortunately it was a big shame in front of my manager and the client we have invited because it was me who recommended this restaurant for dinner as we were already staying at the same hotel, service was poor and food was below average. Then it was a huge disappointment for us all. We were around 8 people who ordered different dishes and apparently the only thing g that was good was the beer cuz obviously it was not done by the staff there.

We ate breakfast here, and the buffet was quite disappointing. We waited over 20 minutes for the empty scrambled eggs to be replenished. Then the tomatoes were finished. No bowls available for cereal and fruit. We wanted coffee, but found the machine had run out. After calling someone to replenish the coffee, we then had to call them again as the water had run out. All in all, we spent more time asking for basic things to be re-stocked than we did enjoying our breakfast.

The place is nice and the food was ok.
However, a very bad experience due to the one who was designated as manager (small with short hair)! We were the largest table in the space where we were seated and no consideration on his part, quite the contrary! One of us ate his meal without any accompaniment despite the fact that we were asked where it was twice in 30 minutes!!! 1st support not available and instead of warning, they simply bring us something else. She shows up with an annoyed look to explain that in this case it was X option or nothing. So it's up to the customer to ask her if other fries are an option, which she confirms except that we don't see the color of the whole meal! She kept repeating it's coming in 2 minutes without offering any apology for this inconvenience and with a more than polite tone.
In the end, it was at the end of the meal that she sent us fries dripping with oil, barely pre-cooked, which had obviously only spent 2 minutes frying.
The height of her contempt, at the time of departure, when one of the waiters asks us if it went well, she passes by "whispering" with her same contempt tinged with sarcasm "yes yes apart from the fries". No goodbye, no apologies, nothing and what's more she openly doesn't care that we didn't get what we paid for?! In the meantime, she commandeered all the waiters for another table, serving dishes when all they expected was a side dish. This table was obviously no bigger than ours so that leads one to wonder if it was our more colorful table that was bothering her? Rest assured, we won't set foot there again.

A real gourmet restaurant in Brussels. We were there last weekend with family. We discovered this place by chance on social networks. They organize a cooking workshop for children every Saturday of the month from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., then we sit down to eat what our little chefs have prepared in the company of the chefs. (Of which I would like to thank each of them infinitely for this wonderful evening, and very particularly to chef Nicholas Tsiknakos who fulfilled my daughter's wish who wanted to make crepes except that it was not included in the menu) experience that will be engraved in our memories. My 6 year old daughter already wants to go back for the next workshop. The welcome, the generosity of the dishes, the flavors, a real treat for the eyes and the taste buds.. Come and discover this surprising and refined cuisine which really surprised me very pleasantly.. To discover if you don't know..

You hesitate visiting a hotel restaurant? Big mistake as you would miss The Avenue Brussels at the Barsey Hotel by Warwick.
I was there recently with some friends and definitely made a good choice. Interesting menu for everybody's taste, great presentation of the plates (see my pictures), very tasty dishes, good wine, friendly service - and an Executive Chef who takes the time to come out to see his guests and talk about his passion.

Once again the restaurant is not up to what one might expect from a stay at Barsey Warwick. Once the team I suppose from the "direction" arrived my table was forgotten all meal I did not have my water still the carpaccio of St Jacques has the truffle and arrives visually drinkable despite a rough cut a lack of freshness which makes the St Jacques had too strong smell. Too bad... like frozen fries. The dessert crème brûlée with its pistachio ice cream good to taste but nothing like a crème brûlée that is supposed to stand. But who makes the choice of a chef and kitchen and sonveppuuqye I wonder this hard qyek criteria...

Never been there. The Barsley Hotel leaves a very clean and neat impression IDEALLY situated in the uptown Brussels City center. Calm is garanteed. I was very surprised to see their LOW RATES. Where in Brussels can you sleep in a decent neighborhood for a 100 euros. All big brand shops are at walking distance(a delight) and there is a tram at the door that goes straight into the city center( about 4 minutes ride to the Grand Place). The AVENUE restaurant is at the same pace. Open for guests and non-guest. Orgnizing a monthly brunch and an happy hour. Very fine contemporary cooking at affordable prices. (A dinner in any Belgian brasserie costs about 72 euros). You will eat a 3-stage dinner for under 80 euros at the AVENUE. I wouldn't even consider to stay downtown. VERY recommendable hotel and restaurant. It's all up to you!
