I went here in August 2019 and January 2020. Worth standing in both heat and cold for. The staff are friendly and helpful. They make an effort to learn your name and explain any dishes you are unsure about; for example, we had never tried sea snail soup and upon their explanation we went for it. The broth was perfect on a cold day. I think about this food more days out of the week than not. Indeed, part of the reason I went back this month was just to have more of that shrimp scampi and razor clams! Make time for this place if you can.

One of the places that we come back to over and over again. I wish it was a sit down restuarant. Instead, you have to eat while standing at tiny wobbly tables. Not cheap, but the food is just AWESOME! Prawns are to die for. I only wish they served other beer (traditional Belgian triple or blonde) than just Estaminet (pretty good lager to be fair). Simple system, order and pay, then they call your name to collect your dishes. Did I mention AWESOME quality food? ;-) There is a chip shop nearby, but their chips are not that great, so eat your seafood with the baguettes they give you (for free).

If you compare it to a luxury restaurant, obviously this is something different, there are just little tables outdoors and you are a bit squashed beside everyone else, but the food is delicious, fresh, tasty and affordable. You order and pay inside, give your name, find a table and then they come over calling your name bringing you the food. I had the calamari and the mussels, both were great. Strongly recommend it and I'd definitely be back, you just need to be lucky and find a seat because it's always quite crowded!

I was there yesterday after a hiatus of a few months but having been a regular for years. The dish that I wad always ordered 'eperlans' we're not particularly fresh and very salty (not what I have eaten during the past ten years). But worse was the fact that they advertise prosecco - which I love - and they are serving cava - which I cannot drink as it gives me a headache, which I had all afternoon and evening. Be honest and serve what you are advertising otherwise great you are cheating.

I have visited this restaurant for more than twenty years. It was always a great experience. The atmosphere was great with the hustle and bustle of the staff behind the counter and the customers sheltering in the warmth beneath the awnings. What a disappointment this year. They have introduced a new ordering system wh8ch isn't really fit for purpose. You have to go to the little shop next door to order your food when previously you could order each plate of food individually at the counter where the cooking takes place. That way each plate of food was fresh and hot. Now your order comes in one go. When eating outside when the temperature is around zero the last thing you eat is cold. The selection on the menu has also been cut down which is a shame. The quality of produce isn't as good as it used to be. Unfortunately, it is now just a macdonalds with fish. Sadly we won't be back.

I found this place by chance. It was very busy. You order what you want and they bring it to you outside. The first thing that surprised me was the people who were very gentle. I order the speciality of the day and a glass of white wine. I must admit that was one of the best croquettes I have ever eat and the sauce was delicious as well; however, the price was a bit high dor that quantity. It was worth trying.

Something of an institution in Brussels, this is a casual dining sea food cafe, with a large terrace. Get a table as soon as one becomes free, and then send one of your party to order the food at the counter. The food is cooked to order and takes 10 to 15 minutes. It is a very busy and popular place, but the time and effort is well worth it. We had the fried prawns - served with a salad and a tartare sauce - followed by moules and fried cod. All of the food is obviously very fresh, simply but expertly cooked. A great memory from Brussels.

I want to give my opinion to avoid the mishap for other people. 2 croquettes at 14e is too expensive for what it is, the soup 6 euros nothing special, squid at 7e I was looking for the squid it was squid crumbs, I don't know if they don't have not ashamed to help ourselves to that and a grilled fish fillet for 13e, there was even a mouthful. In the end I spent 47e and I was still hungry. The prices are exorbitant for dishes served in a cardboard box and we had to wait 1 hour to find a table and chairs. I strongly advise against it. It's nonsense.

Amazing food, soup and oysters were amazing. We tired traditional soup with seasnails from Brussels and it was tasty but very hot! Ba careful :D Ousters are also fresh and big enough. also I would like to admit that stuff was extremely friendly. Highly recommend this place!

Fantastic value lunch. Calamari, king prawns and fish soup to share. Great service and atmosphere. We didn't realize that it's shut on a Monday! But went back on Tuesday and Wednesday, it was that good. If weather not the best, you can sit inside the joining oyster bar, as long as you buy your drinks from them they are happy and very welcoming.

The restaurant is attached to a fish shop, and you can dine on the terrace across from Place Sainte-Catherine. After enjoying a conversation with the staff while looking at the fish lined up in front of the store, I went to the cafeteria reception on the left and ordered by giving my first name. When your fish is ready, the staff at the fish shop will call your name loudly, and when you give your signal, they will take you to the terrace. The famous shrimp croquette is delicious. Each item is reasonably priced, but as you order additional items, the price can add up. My favorite raw oysters were only small fine (speciale?) de claire, probably due to the season. Wine is only available by the glass or full bottle, and you cannot order it by the bottle/carafe. Since they only serve fresh, seasonal seafood, Belgian specialty mussels steamed in white wine are no longer available as of March. Open non-stop from 11:00 to 18:30 every day except Mondays (fish shop closes at 18:00).

Really great fresh seafood in a lovely square. We had fish soup - simple but delicious, followed by butterfly prawns in a herbs sauce and mackerel with a small salad - all superb, the mackerel was as good as I’ve eaten. All this washed down with a glass of very acceptable rose for €43! Why, oh, why use plastic cutlery and disposable cartons to serve such nice food 😢

We ordered fish soup, sea snail soup, scampi, razor clams, and mussels. They were all very good and fresh. We ended up adding two more orders of razor clams and scampi. Very reasonable price and friendly service. A must try if you like seafood.

Pescheria that by day also offers rotisserie service to be consumed on tables on site. Grilled or fried fish. Shrimps, squid, cod, fishnuggets and accompanying craft beers. Prices in line for the quality of products prepared on the spot and served in nice trays. Too bad it was on vacation and we could go there fortunately on the day of departure.

Recommended by friends, despite the rain we sat under the umbrellas. Little queues and fast service allowed us to enjoy very fresh dishes cooked expressly. Pleasant and friendly staff; it overlooks a beautiful little square which makes for a truly pleasant stop. Absolutely worth a try, we will be back.
