Are there areas of improvement? Surely if you try hard enough to find some, and that’s what life is for, to ever improve and progress, like almost everyone in the business. Are those areas important enough? Not really, and they are minute details that are easily communicated and fixed on the spot, and don’t genuinely count as actual weaknesses.
The fact remains that their service is friendly and hospitable, and we’ve noticed that they adjust to customers demands even when they border to unjust (for the record, pasta “ al’arrabiata ” means “angry” and is by definition meant to be spicy, yet they were extremely polite, patient and understanding with the table that contested that it was too spicy; honestly, because I tried it, it was just perfect and of course spicy as it should be). With respect to the food in general, it feels fresh, genuine, honest, and to a high standard, and they shine above their competitors in the Waterloo area and beyond; we personally pop everyone now and then from Brussels specifically for this restaurant. As for their dishes, though all are rather well accomplished, I admit a genuine weakness for their carpaccio with foie gras and truffle oil... it is the best I’ve ever tried anywhere, and if they ever stop offering it (which is of course unlikely) I will be extremely disappointed!
Pay them a visit, and please try their carpaccio with foie gras, you won’t be disappointed and you’ll be coming back for more ;-)

At last a place that knows how to serve lobster, just cooked , still warm with a excellent mayonnaise and their cheapest champagne does a great job to accompany the meal.
By the way, since we are in Belgium, ask to be served french fries with the lobster ...
an unusual but perfect combination.

Eight of us ate here this week and has a very good meal. Service was good and friendly. We had a good selection of wines to accompany our food.

Once again wonderfull experience yesterday evening. Located in Joli-Bois a few miles from the center of Waterloo, « La Pâte et Ose » is a charming restaurant where the food is as good as the service. Don’t hesitate to stop by and enjoy dinner in the garden during the summer season. One advice, don’t forget to book your table

I was happy with the very friendly service, which was attentive and flexible (quite rare in Belgium). That said, the truffle pasta I had was not great and definitely did not live up to its price point. Perhaps they had an off night or it was the specific dish I ordered, but I was disappointed versus the glowing reviews here and on Y-elp. With so many other options around, I am not sure I will be back.

Another restaurant established in Waterloo for almost decades. But it changed. It was quite good and became even better.
Nowadays, it is the perfect place to taste a lot of savours: meat & fish for a very good value for money. Without being exceptional this place is definitely a restaurant to get on your list Waterloo.
The value for money is amazingly fair and they get very good desserts!

The menu is varied and not just pasta although they do that extremely well! There is a large selection of dishes and all those I've sampled have always been well cooked and very tasty including some excellent combinations of ingredients. The staff are very attentive and the restaurant itself has an excellent ambiance.

Very friendly welcomed by all the waiters. Cosy terrace. The food was very fine and good, nice price-quality ratio! We had tuna and croquettes with truffle as starters, they were both good. Main course was pasta with shrimps and mix of pasta, these were not too much, but filling and very nice tastes. I recommend it for a nice evening of fine dining.

The staff is extremely friendly, kind and helpful. Anything on the menu, from appetizers to desserts, is a real delight. It's also a real pleasure to enjoy their terrace on a sunny day.

We had booked a table for 10 and asked to have the lunch of the day. We were told it was no longer available and it was only 12:30 and there were only 5 other guests in the restaurant! We had to wait one hour to receive the food. I had the beef carpaccio with foie gras which was average and the side salad had sand in it. Never again.

You forgot to say that u didn't reserve the lunchs ! I m.sorry but there were more that 5 in the restaurant, and there are clients who,book the lunch ! U forgot to say that we propose u another lunch !!!! And u refuse it !!! And u didn't wait one hour to eat !!! Not really honest ....
