I visit Belgium every other week and make sure I visit Maroon. The atmosphere is relaxed, the food is excellent and the service is great. I return because they care about what they do. I really appreciate the kitchen staff and service and the fact...they care about what they do and how they do it.More

Last week we decided to have lunch at the Brasserie Maroon with my colleagues. I found an hair inside the wrap that I ordered. Not only it was disgusting, but I had not even a sorry or a commercial gesture to show that they were...sorry about it. I'd like to specify that it was a work lunch so I didn't pay anything. I'll never go back, mainly for the rudeness of the the service.More

This restaurant is located very close to the central train-station and is a straightforward place without special elements. It’s a rather small place with a pleasant atmosphere and an open “window/counter” into the kitchen. The menu offers meat and fish dishes and a few vegetarian...🌱 options. The quality of the food was all good and the service was good and friendly. So in summary: decent place with decent food but too my opinion a bit on the expensive side, taken into account that the dishes are pretty standard and so is the restaurant.More

Nice clean place. Changing menu according to the seizon. Prices ok. Staff ok. Open kitchen I choose for the hare fillet. It is game season. Bit overpriced because it was just the half it. Cooking and side dishes ok.

Close to the main train station in Mechelen, you find this nice decorated, food restaurant. We had a good meal, nice service, correct price, but for a foodie like me not a discovery... I missed perhaps some creativity and passion, but could also be my...(wrong) choice on the menu.. Anyway one of the best places in that neighbourhood...More

The menu have a nice variation of food. From fingerfood to specialities. Suggestions change very often and always follow the season. Service is smooth and friendly. Prices acceptable. Nice and very important : clean. Modern interior. Open kitchen.

It is close to the station but that was not too bad as Mechelen is a small town so the station is ok. The food was great and well presented, all for a reasonable price. The bread that came with the meal was particularly good...(many times you just get some boring dry slices) and the typical stoofv* (sorry, cannot remember the whole name) was delicious (beef stew prepared with beer)! The steak my friend had also looked very good. This is good, straight-forward and reasonably priced food.More

Brasserie food can be delicious. Close to the station (not the most attractive neighbourhood) but once inside you will be so happy with the quality of the food and service. 3th time here , always left feeling very satisfied. Will be back.

My husband and I and two friends had dinner here a couple of weeks ago. The restaurant was pretty full which is why we had to wait quite some time before one of the two waiters came to our table. We only had mains and...a dessert. My main (stoofvlees, a typical Belgian stew) was very average; the sauce was runny and it lacked flavour. I had ordered kroketten as a side dish but even after reminding the waitress about three times I only got my side dish after I had almost finished my stew. The dessert was very average as well (the size was huge!). I'm not sure if I would come back... The prices are way too high for what you get.More

Mechelen, small city with pubs and bars in this area (around the railroadstation) but this is a nice veey decent place for fresh quick bites or even larger plates. Good white wine. Staff: quick and friendly. Food: fresh ingredients, good presentation, very tastefull. Try the...handmade cheese- or shrimpsouffle's!More

situated in front of the railwaystation, on a busy trendy square. Nice terrace in summer. We had very good pasta and game presented on the suggestions. Everything came correctly cooked, full of flavours and rather swift. Friendly staff.

Classics, quite boring and without any added value. Just as you would expect and not a bit more. Correct, friendly staff but uninspiring food. I suggest they invest some time in developing new menu and be a little more creative than chicken with pesto.

After some disappointing visits, I stayed away for half a year. Returned for business lunch with 9 persons. Restaurant quite busy. Food quality is average to good, but not consistant. Some dishes were OK, some disappointing and not well prepared. Prices are OK, but quality...and service should be better. Otherwise overrated.More
