Great family owned business! They make you feel at ease right away. The meats are their signature dishes but all others are worth considering as well. When in doubt: just ask your waiter as they are happy to help!

The couple that runs Tante Yvonne (literally Aunty Yvonne) knows what people like when they go out for dinner in Antwerp. The lady of the house, often assisted by her lovely daughter, will certainly help you to choose the best dish of the menu. Her...husband, in the kitchen will cook it to perfection. And when the last guest will almost get his desert, he will come out and play some French "chansons", alone or assisted by some musician friends that will join him in a tiny corner of the restaurant. Food, ambiance and music always combine in a delightful experience that -- most of the time -- is known only to locals. (But now you know the secret too).More
Antwerp South, very nicelly decorated restaurant. With a bar and draft beers. Very relaxed atmosphere, extensive menu with good choice ! What they serve is excellent, we had Steak Chateaubriand, haven't had this quality in ages.... well prepared with salad/vegetables and french fried (own made)...! Good choice of wines, and afterwards you get a show, the cook starts singing with his guitar !... Very nice evening !More
We went for lunch and we had time to enjoy ourself with some fine food, no stress of time. Expectations were high as a friend introduced us to a new place. Still, the entrée was fine, but the main course was overdone, a shame. Typically,...Belgian food, sweetbread and kidney was well overdone. I had the impression that the steak taken by my partner, had the same problem, as he didn't gave comment on the food. So, a friendly advice the the owners, take care of your cooking time. Your dishes are excellent, but don't overcook. The setting was great and the place is full of opportunity. Still, you're in a restaurant, so I expect for the price, a decent well prepared typically Belgian dish...which I din't received. Would you go again, may be yes, to be sure that it was a 'once time' mistake, as the place is typically old 'fashionable' Belgium, in a great positive sense. For 'non-Belgium', a great place to go to feel the Belgium feeling.More
Very cosy, Parisian style restaurant with some of the best, spontaneous musical acts is town. Go and sit at the piano or interact with the owners, who not only are excellent chefs and hosts, but also superb singer - songwriters. Not to mention Fidji born...piano and guitar player Ray who masters all kinds of music and languages. Buy him and yourself a beer and the show will go on for hours...More
Good hospitality, nice food, affordable prices. Lunch menu for € 25. Near museums. Agréable atmosphere.
Warm, homely decor. We enjoyed the food, and especially the after dinner entertainment, when Patrick, owner and chef of the restaurant, plays his guitar and sings traditional French songs, accompanied by his wife who has an exquisite deep voice. The entertainment takes places Wednesday, Friday...and Saturday evenings. If you are looking for peace and quiet choose choose another evening. Prices are reasonable, and the owner and staff very friendly.More
Being within walking distance from work, we often visit for lunch. Ideal for quiet talk while enjoying ( very) old fashioned french cooking. One remark: menu doesn't seem to change over the years...
Honest food at a reasonable price. Good housewines. All dishes are tasty. After dinner the owner (Patrick) takes his guitare and starts playing some oldies.
Frequent visitor due to excellent location. He is in the kitchen, she does the service. Simple menu and a few specials of the week at affordable prices, extensive winelist. Classic french cuisine, but do avoid mixed smoked fish platter unless you like warm sweetbread on...top of salmon!!More
If want to have fun, go to Tante Yvonne. Near the excellent food Patrick and Miranda ( the owners) play music and give you a fantastic concert. The only problem is that it is so nice that you forget to leave. When we want to...de stress we come to Tante Yvonne.More
