Pleasant place, very fresh fish, well cooked, very classical and ridiculously expensive. Nothing to warrant the cost.

We made a reservation as a couple in this restaurant, located in the old town close to the pedestrian tunnel. The restaurant is well known by local people. The interior has a maritime touch and is nicely decorated. The service is attentive and friendly. We got a nice “amuse-bouche” with a tartare of salmon. As a starter the North sea... More

If you want to spend your money to an overrated restaurant then you are at the right place. € 59.-- for a grilled turbot accompanied by five pieces of asparagus (not sufficiently cooked!!) is really too much. This dish was the suggestion of the grumpy lady which seemed to be owner. The oyster plate from the menu was not available.... More

Actually it is a great, real classy old style, restaurant. Nothing bad to mention about the quality of the food and drinks. But terribly expensive. As paying for it is our own free choice what can one say. Just be advised.

We were next to the window at the front which isn't in fact as nice as the bits of the restaurant further back. Pricey: €103 for two, with just a... More

This restaurant is located next to the old pedestrian tunnel but although the location is less known the restaurant is a real jewel. The mussels are outstanding and the fresh fish dishes a must.

Walking through Antwerp old centre was interesting but besides a few bars, there was not much local cuisine offered. Then we turned a corner into this little square and found the palinghaus. As eel is my favourite fish, we had to eat there. We were a tad early so sat in the square opposite for half an hour til it... More
