What can I say, I love Asian food, but this was supeerb! And student budget friendly 🥰 we had 3 courses, both vegetarian and non vegetarian options ar possible, the waiter was very friendly and good at English. The interior is small and cozy, and the restaurant is mainly full, so consider making a reservation. I recommend this ambience to everybody! ps. Savjet Balkancima, kava nije nesto 😅

Satay is located in a cosy urban place in the middle of Antwerp. Satay has a very nice concept with a limited choice, so everything comes to the table super fresh! It has a hip interior, with rather limited space, but that was not a deal breaker for me. Satay has a mixed audience. I thought I would have lunch between students only, but the age was surprisingly varied. I saw a lot of family’s, grandparents with their grandchildren, friends, couples. First I began with the starter. The spring rolls weren't my favourite but the lemongrass satay, vegetables and pancakes were perfect. As a main course I took the Teriyaki beef and citrus duck and both were top notch! The meat was marinated fine and it was really tasty. It’s hard to pick a highlight given how good everything was but I would recommend you leave space for dessert and try the ube ice cream not only does it look out of this world, it’s also delicious, they served it in the summer. I found the service to be smooth and super friendly, even on busy nights. From the moment I walked the staff where attentive and helpful allowing me to change seating to seat at the cook station. They also provided suggestions for food and drink selections. I didn’t had to wait very long for my food. It took them only 10 minutes to make a beautiful and delicious meal. I would highly recommend the restaurant for everyone who likes Asian food or someone who want to try it. The restaurant is original and well located with a brilliant selection of meat, vegan and vegetarian dishes to suit everyone’s tastes! A place where you step outside with a good feeling!

The food is delicious, we took the menu and everything was really good. The only bad thing I should point out is that the service was not good. We spent one hour and a half to have lunch because the food took more than 40 min.

Satay was such an incredible restaurant with such a lovely staff 😌. I went with my mom and we ordered the starter mix (11 euro pp) which was phenomenal and loaded with flavor - i HIGHLY recommend. For our main course we got the chicken gado gado and the bbq pork which was phenomenal 😍. For drinks we loved the bangkok botanical (very refreshing) and the horses’ neck! Make sure to make a reservation because this place is quite busy 😊

Trendy restaurant serving satays with an Asian twitch. The starters mix was very good and presented creatively. The main dish was a terryaki satay with rice noodles, though the noodles looked very much as capellini. The accompanying mushrooms and vegetables were lukewarm. It would have been better if they were hotter. Service was very good and friendly. Wine list is very limited but white and red wines are available in a glass or bottle. Good value for your money.

Visiting Antwerp and having some evenings of fine dining we were looking for some more but couldn't find any free so we looked around and chose this because of proximity to our hotel. Expectations were shattered (positively) by the mixed starters - heaven on earth ! The main dishes were good, too, but we just could not resist to order another serving of the mixed starters (which the kitchen agreed to even though we were 15 min. past closing time, thanks gentlemen). We wolfed them down and staggered back to the hotel feeling like buddhas. Oh and by the way - ludicriously cheap and really friendly service Definitely on top of my list next time in Antwerp !

Walking around the area the previous night we bumped into this restaurant that was packed so we decided to try it the next day for a casual dinner. We chose BBQ pork and Teriyaki beef. BBQ pork came with rice and the pork belly was so tender. Teriyaki beef was with noodles, delicious. The food came fast, the staff was friendly, recommending beer to accompany our order. Good value for money and really nice.

My boyfriend and I went to dinner here and oh my god it was amazing. We started off with the starter course you can share as a couple. It was a sight to see. (See picture of little bites on sticks) The starter consists out of 2 quail eggs with Wasabi and sesame seeds, a grilled white fish filet ball, asparagus rolled in crispy bacon, 2 meatballs and some kind op dumpling. Then we received a plate with a different type of dumpling and a sort of dumpling you could "build" yourself. The starters were served quickly. It was an experience on its own and we absolutely loved it. The waiters had our main course ready within no time. My main course was the teriyaki beef bowl and my boyfriend has the BBQ pork belly. Mine was served with thin ramen, some brocollini, fried egg, and shitake. I ordered an extra duck satay with it and it was delicious. The beef was cooked medium-rare and tasted amazing! The duck was very good as well. The entire dish was extremely tasty and I absolutely loved it. My boyfriend had the BBQ pork belly and it was the softest pork belly I ever had. He found it delicious and ordered an extra chicken satay on the side to mix with it, which was also very soft and tasty. My boyfriend had the passion fruit sorbet as desert and he found it lovely. I just had Chai tea which was very delicious as well. We had a great experience, the food was beyond amazing and the staff was very very friendly. I would definitely recommend!

When my partner told me that we were going to eat at Satay, my reaction was: I don't feel like eating Satay. I didn't know at the time that I was going to take a trip from Antwerp to wonderful Asia. Because as soon as you enter here, the atmosphere gives that feeling, even though the chairs are not really comfortable, but hey, that is part of a complete experience. As a starter we had the Starter mix, the name says it all, a mix of the first 3 starters on the menu. Unfortunately, 1 of the 3 was no longer available, but we were allowed to choose from 3 things what we would like instead, we could choose from chicken, cheese and shiitake, which we thought was a great solution. the dishes were beautifully served, and came one after the other and not all at once. Afterwards I doubt whether this was the intention because at another table I saw that everything was served at the same time. Despite that, it worked out fine for us because we could now eat everything nice and warm and nothing was slowly getting cold. There was a lot of time between the starter and the main course, time to take a good look around you, and yes, it still felt like we were in Asia. Although it really looked like Antwerp outside because of the road works that took place in front of the restaurant. The main course was served, we both had the pork belly, it looked beautiful and there was a lot of it. So much so that neither of us could even finish it. I am not really a big eater myself, and can therefore advise you to either only have a main course or a smaller starter. My partner is a big eater and he couldn't finish it either, but his big tip was if you like spicy food, ask for the home made sambal, which he really liked. Because my plate was still quite full with rice and vegetables, because well, if you are not that hungry you have to set priorities and mine were of course with the delicious marinated tender pork belly, the servant asked if he would wrap it for me so that I could have it. could enjoy it later or the next day. He actually asked this second because to my shame I had eaten so little that he doubted whether I liked it at all, and he asked specifically about this. The latter tells me that they find it extremely important that everyone walks out satisfied and certainly not hungry. For dessert we had a small disappointment, at least not completely because I couldn't take it anymore and a cappuccino which was delicious by the way, you don't get a good strong cappuccino very often, but back to the desserts, my partner and I like it. both no coconut and well then there is little left of the dessert menu. So my partner had another Stella for dessert, although I highly doubt you can call that a disappointment because he looked very satisfied with his fresh beer. all in all, a wonderful experience, lovely staff. It took a little too long before we could order drinks again. and it took a little too long between the starter and the main course. But it is definitely worth the wait! I would say don't skip this Satay, but I would make a reservation because it is really packed!

Beautiful location, very tasty food, everything freshly prepared, we had some chips and mangos with chili to start with (I specifically asked because they were so tasty). Very friendly, attentive service. Fair prices. Good central location. The tram drives past the window, which I liked. That makes everything very lively. But everything inside is still quiet and relaxed in the shop. I'd be happy to go back!

It's always a bit strange to eat street food in a restaurant; street food - as the word suggests - belongs on the street. But this place does offer honest and delicious street food! The young waiters are very friendly and helpful and the food is delicious! Great address!

The portions are big enough, but the food is completely unimaginative: 90% pasta (so cheap) - hardly any vegetables or fish/meat. The rice chips that were served beforehand smelled of mold, the service was inattentive and overwhelmed (drinks forgotten, sauce that was ordered later also forgotten). At the next table, someone tried to speak Dutch/Flemish to the waiter - but it failed because the waiter only understood English. The cooking here is done by Europeans, not Asians. It's all a bit strange.

After more than a week of traveling around, we were tired of all the traditional Belgian meals and decided to go in here and were just able to take a seat at a high table by the window. We shared a few chicken satays beforehand and then both ate a delicious noodle bowl with Thai tiger shrimps. That was great! Add an excellent mango sorbet and an affogato. It is very simple on the inside and you are on top of each other, but people work hard here, the food is delicious and the bill is a relief. We would go back there again!

Amazing food at a great price. Got the 19 euro lunch menu. Pork belly wrap was the bomb! So tasty. Chicken meatball bowl really flavourful and a bit spicy - yay! Passion fruit ice sorbet intensely fruity. I would definitely come back again and again. Service was very friendly.

Cosy, friendly and yummy! Hardly any need to say more but I will. We had the mixed starters then my wife had the duck whilst I had the haloumi. The duck came with noodles and salad and the haloumi with a delicious salad. Lovely spices and textures. Strongly recommended.
