Fabulous - what a great restaurant!

This restaurant is perfectly located as it is on the Denneweg. Easy to reach! The interior is really welcoming and comfortable. There is also a conservatory which has loads of plants as if you were outside. We had the 4 course (3 dinner plates plus pudding) which was incredibly tasty. Delicious salmon, tuna, veal, steak - it was divine. Next time I will probably go for 4 plates as the 3 plates of dinner was a bit to little for me. The service was great. The waiters were attentive, checked up on us a few times and made some great recommendations. Thanks, we will be back!

Takeaway dining during lockdown

Dekxels is one of our favorite restaurants in The Hague so we were excited to hear they were offering takeout. The meal did not disappoint. Everything was the same restaurant quality you would expect. The extra is the details, nice hand written note, music playlist and a few extras we did not order like the ‘survivalchello’ desert drinks. Well done. Very happy.

Awesome Food and Service

We dined here for the first time last night and we were blown away by the food, ambiance and service we received. Right off the bat, we knew we were going to get service above and beyond the typical Dutch level of service. From the host to the servers, they were attentive, friendly, engaging and prompt. Drink service was fast and the wine recommendation was on perfect (we opted for the New Zealand Pinot Noir). I think our server sensed our indecision and suggested since we were a party of 4, we simply do the entire menu and share. Such a great recommendation and I am so glad we did. We did leave out the soup and eel, as it just didn't appeal to us. Some of the stars of the meal included the bao, the cauliflower and both of the beef dishes. The only hiccup was the pork belly. Very dry and the flavors were just not there. This shot up to the top of the list as our favorite places to dine in The Hague. Well done and we cannot wait to go back!

I have been visiting this restaurant many times and it has always been my favourite restaurant in The Hague, but for some reason I had not been there now for some 3 years. First of all I was very happy to see that they survived the Corona crisis and secondly I was happy to experience that their unique Modern Asian fusion cuisine is still as delicious as I remembered. Very creative dishes, very tasty and nicely presented and it all comes at a very reasonable price. Als highly recommended for vegetarians. All in all still my favourite choice for a nice and relaxed dinner in The Hague

Fantastic!

As a local I've visited Dekxels several times and each time they manage to delight us! The food, the staff and the ambiance are fantastic, but a special thank you for delighting us at home too since covid restrictions. You've managed to take your vision to people's homes by serving a delicious menu that doesn't compromise on taste, while staying positive and service-oriented. An extra little surprise (that I won't spoil here) with the delivery is a great touch!

Feeling special during lockdown

We were a little bit scared to order at Dekxels in lockdown time, because we always celebrate special dates at dekxels. Scared for being dissapointed for the first time. But we were so wrong.... Dekxels managed to give you the same restaurant experience at home as at the restaurant. The food was a little bit colder and the softshell bao was too salty, but the appetitive, the amuse, fortune cooking, the personal card and the playlist made us feel so happy. Don’t forget to order the rendang and dessert, it was a highlight of the meal. We decided to order regularly since they change their menu every 2 weeks.

Home Delivery with Love

We had Dekxels deliver us Bao Buns with Iberico Ribs and the Bavette dish, as starters tuna tartar and beef tataki and two lovely deserts. The food was superb, you will have difficulties to find a better home delivery. But on top of that, we got some nice surprises with the food: some fortune cookies, a bottle with hot sauce, limoncello and - and that shows with how much love and engagement the team at Dekxels works - a personal, hand-written card with a thank you that we ordered with them! This is just fantastic and lead to a wonderful evening during the current lock down. Great, keep up the good work, we will be back!

Excellent good, great vibe, and awesome service!

I took my husband here for his 40th birthday. The team made it very special by decorating our table (and later singing). The vibe here is super cozy, and while the food is really unique - the service is outstanding! We've been living the Netherlands for 2 years and rarely have we experienced as great service as this restaurant. The staff were knowledgeable about the food and ingredients, as well as giving recommendations for cocktails and wine. We were really impressed! Highly recommend.

A perfect restaurant

This restaurant is highly rated and was not far from my hotel so I thought I would give it a try. A friendly greeting even though I was a little late, I was impressed with how friendly each member of staff was all through out my visit. The menu straight away impressed me as each dish looked good, they also bought out a an amouse bouche which was delicious as soon as I finished choosing. Each dish had Asian influence which I really like. I enjoyed the experience so much I went back the next two nights. A perfect restaurant, good food friendly staff a shame I was working away as I would have liked to shared the experience with someone.

Disappointed

After so many positive reviews I was expecting quality. Dessert was okay but didn’t enjoy most of my other dishes, we took three course meal for both, with this option we could try almost everything as the menu is pretty limited, what a disappointment, none of the dishes I would order again.. maybe dessert but even that didn’t taste very fresh, the chocolate cinnamon roll was pretty hard, definitely a day or two old.. didn’t think much of the service and the ambience, too many waitresses talking among themselves (about other customers) I am sure we don’t come again

Best meal in The Hague after 9 years of living here

Had the 3 course meal for two: Tuna Smoke Eel Pulpo Tostadas (my favorite) Adobo pork belly Lamb dumplings Bao chicken buns Chocolate cinnamon roll Shiso sorbet (outstanding) Everything was superb from the attentive service, the pace of the food (2 tapas brought at a time), portion sizes, and even the music choices. Loved the entire experience and will be back for sure. Must thank the chef for a most memorable meal. Have lived and traveled all over the world and this dinner was in top 10 restaurants for us. For the price, it levels the competition. The combinations of flavors is both unique and perfection. The only issue is the noise as the rooms are mostly hard surfaces so the voices from the other happy patrons bounce around and it’s hard to hear the staff explaining the delightful food. Maybe add something padded to the ceiling to catch the sound. This is a minuscule quibble and absolutely won’t stop us from returning. Make reservations as it was a full house!

Amazing Meal!!!

The restaurant is beautiful and has a nice outdoor patio in the back. The servers were very attentive and helpful describing the food and choices. Plenty of vegetarian options. The portions were a perfect size and everything tasted so good. Highly recommend!!

What a treat!!!

What a treat! Kids had a sleepover at gran’s and we ordered takeaway from Dekxels (due to COvID lockdown - otherwise we would have just loved to take a seat at this cozy stylish place). Don’t miss out on their bao buns with soft shell crab and their gyoza’s, so so yum!! The survivalcello (limoncello) and the free edamame made it superfestive. No matter what dish, the most special is really the combo of textures, tastes and seasoning. Enjoy!! 😋

Let me start by mentioning that the interior design is very lovely. But the food was delicious as well, full of flavour (the only point might be that the chips need some salt before they're served). Service was also very good and considerate. Can recommend this place to anyone and will definitely come again!

Surprising, Creative and Professional

Had a family dinner for 10 persons at Dekxels. Service was friendly, smooth, fast (unusual for some Dutch restaurants) and, above all, professional. Food is surprising and highly creative. While they claim to be of asian and mediterranean inspiration, it is more like an european asian fusion cuisine. Taste was great and portions well balanced. A must try if you ask me!
