Because all the restaurants in the area were full on Friday, we happened to go to t Jagertje. Upon arrival it was not mentioned that they had no menu and that we could only choose from surprise menus. We didn't like that very much at first, but we still had a delicious meal. The starter took some getting used to: Cold beets, beet ice cream, eel and a mousse of?? The main course of venison steak was delicious! It's just a shame that we had to pay extra for the cheese board (delicious), but when we asked for an explanation, the price was taken off the bill. Overall, delicious food, but on the pricey side.

Spectacular! Our Favorite and Best Restaurant in all of Amsterdam and Belgium. Wonderfully, fresh and delicious food, great atmosphere, great service. No issues at all using all credit cards. And the best is not having to weight hours in between courses. You can also pick between 3-6 courses. Portions are normal, not little sample bites. Not over run with tourists. We just loved it! Very close to a nice hotel as well Hotel Des Indes

Atmosphere was so nice!
Live Band which welcomed everyone while they came in🙃
Starter: Coquille and a Carpaccio.
Main: Côte de Boeuf and Tournedos.
Desert was a surprise.
Literally EVERYTHING was amazing!
Even the owner asked if we had a nice night😍
The Chef Duco was very cool and made us feel right at home❤️

Restaurant located in the cozy 'buurtschap 2005', one of the oldest in The Hague. There is not much to see inside, except a tile tableau. The restaurant is quite small, with a massive 'block' in the middle and behind it a few tables and the open kitchen. Interior a mic of styles. We had an excellent 3-course surprise menu plus amuse and (good) coffee with delicacies. Grilled eggplant carpaccio with Mediterranean topping. Two main courses, nothing special, but good portions. Dessert with variations of blackberry (yawn). Friendly service. All in all, not enough to return for.

It is a very nicely decorated restaurant. Where the guest is really treated as a guest. Unfortunately there was no live music on Thursday evening. The music we heard was not too loud but very much to our taste. We had a three course menu which was very excellent. With a good matching wine. Compliments to the chef and the service was certainly excellent. All in all a very successful evening. We will definitely come back.

Great place: food is exotic and excellent. The menu changes every week. The chef is probably one of the best in town.
The ambience is warm and cozy.
On Fridays and Saturdays there is live jazz music. There is a great local band with a virtuoso saxophonist that plays once a month.
The service is friendly, but a bit slow.
The low point is when it comes to paying the bill. Although they have the credit card machine, it will reject your Mastercard orVisa card, including debit card, Let alone Amex or Discover... As crazy as this could sound in one of the most advanced countries in EU and the world, it is sadly true in this place. On the other hand, we were told the "EU cards" work well. One would wonder whether Dutch banks discourage the use of U.S. bank cards and credit card.
Bottom line: great place to go, fantastci food, beautiful music, but you better get enough cash with you.

We stopped in for dinner before Christmas and were the only ones in the restaurant. It turns out they had a huge party the evening before to celebrate their opening. Of course, the service was excellent, but the server was very friendly and more than willing to share the restaurant's background. The chef's menu was excellent, fresh, and well prepared. We will definitely be back!

Visited Het Jagertje several times. Wine and food combination is neat and delicious. Venison as a main course was really delicious, and the scallop was fantastic. Service was great thanks to host Luuk.

We had a wonderful evening at Jagertje! If you like really good food and wine, combined with a nice atmosphere and service *and* live jazzy music, this restaurant is definitely the place to be!
(p.s. they also have really ingenious Covid-19 protection measures!)

Found this restaurant through Tripadvisor, but had no clue as to what to expect. What a pleasant surprise. Located in a small pedestrians-only street next to Hotel Des Indes, Jagertje welcomes you with candles and soft Jazz music. The staff were extremely helpful, knowledgable, and cheerful, with an eye for detail. We were a group of three, and had the Tuna and Vegetarian option for starters and the "Kalfssucade" (veal stew) and "Kabeljauw" (cod fish),.All dishes well presented and full of flavour, with lovely fresh ingredients and ample portion size. All three of us were impressed and spoke to the enthusiastic chef who explained the dishes in detail. Such passion for cooking!!
The staff explained that they have just opened the restaurant in December and are still in the process of doing their marketing. Well they have at least one customer who will do a bit of their marketing for them: Do go and enjoy this little gem of a place!!
