I am sorry to be in a position to leave this review but I am doing it hoping that the people in charge will take notice and prevent this from happening again. As it was impossible to have dinner in the restaurant due to Covid...related restrictions, I ordered dinner online and the food was delivered at the hotel. I was excited about trying the Vegalbondigas: "A luxurious vegan take on Mama’s homemade meatballs with cinnamon, saffron, ginger, curry, cumin, pumpkin, sweet onions and sweet dried fruit." What I received instead were the 3 extra toppings (that I paid for) on a bed of quinoa. I called the restaurant and I was told that the 'balls must have decomposed in the quinoa'. I know exactly what all the above flavours taste like and there was nothing like that in my dish. Huge disappointment for a bowl that cost about 20 euros. I was also disappointed with the way they treated the complaint, instead of accepting the mistake and proposing a solution.More

Looking for a nice place for some take away, we visited Spaanse Moeder. They advertise with a "Spaanse kapsalon". A Spanish version of the Dutch "Kapsalon". If you visit Holland and haven't tried the original Kapsalon, try it! Well this place created the Spanish version...and it was really delicious. The original Kapsalon is made of French fries, but this one with Patatas Bravas, Chorizo instead of Döner and much other Spanish ingredients. All home made! A lot of flavours mixed together and really tasty! Just like the original Kapsalon it doesn't always look very structured and tastefull at first, but believe me when you just need to take a bite!More

We had big appetite, so ordered takeaway from Our Spanish Mother. The El Gordo XXL is their Spanish take on a ‘kapsalon’. Accompanied with some Spanish meatballs and a bottle of sangria, my wife and I had a fantastic meal!

This is quite possible the best takeaway food I’ve had in The Hague. Feels like it was put down infringe of me by my imaginary Spanish abuela. Feels like my first Guinness. Feels like a warm hug. Hope you are Spanish and a mother because...only that combo could create what I’ve just eaten. Que sabrosa!!More

I ate yesterday and was very impressed with the excellence of the lentils stew I had, how authentic as per the traditional spanish recipes, how tasty and good quality ingredients which are used, making it all very healthy and surprisingly very affordable. I really recommend...this place, I seldom write reviews, but I really want to help this family which is starting this restaurant and for this reason I recommend to everyone to try it out.More

I have had some tapas for starters and ate a Tevreden Boer slowcook bowl after. It has been long time ago that I experienced such great flavors. This is authentic kitchen to the max..

Chicago tourist presently surprised in downtown Den Haag with delicious Spanish food at “De Spaanse Moeder” (The Spanish Mother) is located at the Molenstraat 42 ‘s-Gravenhage. This nicely styled location we ordered the slow cook bowl “the Pyreneeën” with quinoa, a slow cook bowl “Albondigas...de Mama” with brown rice and the slow cook bowl “de tevreden boer Mediterrane potatoes. Everything tasted delicious. As dessert we tried the “Cuajada”, the Flan and the “tarte Santiago” and two sides of fresh fruit and whipped cream. wonderful fresh. Friendly service. Excellent location for a great price. Was even able to pay with Apple Pay. Definitely a place to come back to.More
