The food is proper in quantity and also tastes really good. We went with an Indonesian so I guess it must also be authentic. The service is pretty ok although a bit unorganized and chaotic. The ladies get confused if there are more than 3 people on a table. The decor is really weird. Seems like they picked up chairs... More

A casual setting...nothing special about the decor but it's a delicious Indonesian spot...love the food! Also perfect for take-out! My favorites are the rendang and egg. Great flavours & fresh ingredients. Super service & friendly staff. Fun spot with friends or family.

Very nice indonesian restaurant, brings out real flavours. The sate could have been made of smaller pieces, would enhance flavour (but dutch people go for size too often so probably a concession to locatikn) but the udang with pateh beans, rendang and soto were amazing. Highly recommended.

Cozy, small restaurant in a quiet part of town where locals eat Indonesian food as it is supposed to be - in particular the traditional "rijsttafel" (a table full of small dishes showcasing a large selection of various food items/dishes). Alsoo the single dishes are wonderful and rather large. Price is on the lower side compared to other Indonesian restaurants.... More

Very small place and it was packed for dinner when I was there. I am new to Indonesian cuisine - ordered the grille pork chops and some side veggies with spicy fried rice. The food was great - reminded me of Vietnamese marinade pork chops. Was a bit disappointed in the size - three small ribs with almost no meat... More

This neighbourhood restaurant serves fabulous, tasty Indonesian food, the staff are very nice and helpful in recommending certain foods, my husband and I really enjoyed our experience and would not hesitate to visit again on our next trip to The Hague.

The rijstafel (rice table) for two is delicious and excellent value. Easily one of the best we have experienced. The staff are very friendly and attentive and if you get stuck with understanding anything on the menu they will help you out. A tip though - if you don't know where you are going, check out the location on Google... More

As first timers in the Hague, we were told to definitely try out Indonesian food. Following a tip from our concierge, who happens to be married to an Indonesian, we went to Didong with very little expectations, and were pleasantly surprised by the super tasty food. Would come back in the future for sure.

When in The Hague, eat Indisch (Indonesian)! There's plenty great to try. Definitely top 5 is Didong. Cook used to be at Kantjil's and if that's not saying anything, the food will. We had a "rijsttafel", chicken, port, lamb, beef & several vegetable dishes. Been tasting this for lots of decades and hey, what they serve here is great. Better... More

Description
Indonesian restaurant Didong is located in the centre of Duinoord. The name Didong means 'stubborn'. On the one hand this was chosen for its pleasant sound and on the other to give a 'stubborn' and contemporary twist to the business. The owners of Didong gained their knowledge of the Indonesian cuisine in famous restaurant Kantjil in Prinsestraat and later at Dua in Scheveningen. The interior at Didong is simple and atmospheric and does not have traditional elements, such as Wajongpoppen.

Cuisine
The cuisine at restaurant Didong has a refreshing and contemporary character and includes a creative, personal and innovative perspective on the authentic, spicy Indonesian cuisine. Instead of overcooked vegetables on table warmers, crispy vegetables are served directly on side dishes. The suppliers and the origins of the produce are selected with care. For example, the roast Babi Pangang originates from free-range Livar pigs from Limburg. In addition to the rice tables and individual dishes, Didong also has speciality dishes on the menu. They change regularly and reflect the contemporary view of the traditional Indonesian cuisine. Takeaway dishes are also available.
