I enjoyed everything about this place, except the food!
Service, surroundings, noise level, all good but the food was so under seasoned. I was served the worst hummus I have ever eaten, completely bland and it seemed like it was just mashed chickpeas, no seasoning, apparently no tahini, no olive oil and it was served with white bread? I tried the fish el couscous as my main course but it was almost as bland as the hummus.
I won't return.

Lovely food at very affordable prices. Went to the one in Amsterdam many years ago, which is sadly closed now, and it was amazing. Finally got to go to this one and totally worth it! This place should show other restaurants in the Netherlands how to be affordable, tasty and fill you up at the same time! The place is absolutely gorgeous as well.

I stumbled across this great restaurant spontaneously while taking a walk. Getting a table for myself was no problem, but if you have more than one person, a reservation is recommended.
Vegetarians will also find something here, my couscous dish was delicious and the saffron sauce went really well with it.
The ambience is very rustic and fits in with a bustling bazaar.
I'd be happy to go back 🙂

Today we visited the Bazar restaurant in Rotterdam on the occasion of the birthday of our family member. Last time. Until this day, we have been regular customers for some time, but we will no longer return to them. We booked a table in advance, clarified that the adult daughter had a birthday and, of course, expected a slightly more festive atmosphere at our table or at least a small compliment. But alas .. The employee of the restaurant on the second floor who met us was clearly not in the mood, and this was expressed even in how nervously he reacted to our choice of a table, at the moment when we wanted to move away from the air conditioner. The promised festive dessert at the end of dinner was never brought. We believe that this is highly disrespectful to regular customers (the waiters remember us well by sight). We talked with the girl manager, she was surprised that we did not receive a birthday compliment, but beyond the promises to sort it out, it didn’t work. Of course, excuses. Regarding the assortment of dishes and the quality of the dishes, in our opinion, compared with last year, changes for the worse. Yes, all the same large portions, but in the salad there will be mainly a lot of onions, not cucumbers with tomatoes; if the side dish is potato, then it will be quite a bit. Couscous is tasteless, none of us like the way it is cooked in this restaurant. In general, portions are large, but in fact you will not especially feel satisfaction with the quality of food. We asked for a table for 4 people and a kid of 5 years old, a black guy said sorry we don't have even if they have. We arrived at 6pm for dinner time!
After that he asked us to leave the front of the restaurant even when other people are waiting.
If this behavior is allowed in rotterdam my god what the hell are we doing in this country. This first time for us where a black guy showed racism towards us.

The service was bad, all the people we came in contact with seemed bored or pissed off. They were not even polite, our orders were wrong repeatedly with no apology offered. We waited a long time. The food was bland and nothing special.
Would not recommend it.

Never again! No friendliness at all. If you ask for pepper you almost get it thrown on your head. Not a smile in sight, gentleman aged around 40 bald with glasses so unfriendly. If you don't like your job, just don't do it! If you order Haydari for 7 euros you will receive a bowl of yoghurt/curd. No haydari at all. Couse couse with meat contains 90 percent couse couse and then you get 2 small pieces of veal. Never again!!! Greetings Nur

With a happy feeling to be back at the Bazar, really a very nice restaurant, and a very original menu, the terrace is also in one of the nicest places of Rotterdam, and actually only had good experiences before, also in the hotel. Unfortunately a lot has changed, except for the map. Staff are friendly, but not very attentive, we had to indicate with every order that we wanted to order. They are mainly concerned with each other and that is a pity, even when they come to the table for the first time, they do not say what is not what is on the menu, it already went wrong there.
Both ordered a salad, and the portions are very spacious, and if I were a rabbit I would have had the day of my life, but the filling of the salad was not very exciting. The price is understandable, because they are very much below the norm for the centre of Rotterdam.
The shrimp were well served but on such a skewer it is not really convenient food. No one came to ask if everything was satisfactory, and we just got up to ask for the bill.
I am really sorry, it used to be such a beautiful place, but now it is really not worth coming back.

Nice colorful place, friendly and attentive service, good drinks, inviting menu … but: herbs and spices seem to be overrated here. All dishes tasted simply like nothing and the meat was dry and hard, the chicken was the most juicy meat which should be a warning sign. The saffron sauce was without saffron and reminded of creamy canned fish soup. The spare ribs (most expensive dish) and the garlic sauce were the highlights of our dinner but still not great. And beware of the digestive oude bokma: it tastes like a desinfection solution.

We come here often, the Tunisian fish soup is highly recommended. However, there is 1 man working. A tall dark man with glasses. This spoils the atmosphere for visitors and staff. Snarls at staff in front of guests, makes staff look foolish. Takes your order and slams everything on the table and walks away bored. Give the place an upgrade by giving this man a different position

Go eat here regularly both for business and private and the service is very variable. Sometimes they pay quite close attention to you and sometimes to indifference. It is always busy and so always make a reservation. Because I go there regularly I know what to expect in terms of food and I like it in relation to the price you have to pay for it. The only downside I find is that it is quite noisy and a nice conversation during dinner is quite difficult. If you can sit outside on the terrace in the summer you sometimes sit in the exhaust fumes of cars parading around eating.

We had a great meal here with 4 people, some of whom also had a delicious vegetarian meal. Sufficient, prompt and friendly staff. The decaf was also excellent now, where it was very weak last time. The bill wasn't too bad either. The only downside I could note now were the dirty toilets, both for the ladies and the gentlemen. The staff (and management) should pay more attention to this, and hopefully the guests will also help to keep it tidy.

Excellent atmosphere and service. I went with my boyfriend. We ordered the Bazar Bazir (meat) and it was delicious. The prices are really fair but for what you get it is a really good deal! Portions are huge. I am giving 4 stars out of 5 just because we had to sit next to the toilet, even though I called to reserve a table two days before, and also because we got as starter some bread with buttermilk curbs but it tasted just like plain yogurt sauce, so I do not recommend it. For the rest, it was a very nice experience!

Honestly, not only the quality but also the interior design of the restaurant have impressed me. I highly recommend for those who want to have a nice evening with your partner or family. The price of the dishes are moderate but the quality is really high. I have tried all dishes and my favorite is the Lamb Shanks.

À true danger for anyone w food intolerances. We had called before to ensure they could serve a lactose free meal. Clearly asked again when arriving, got confirmation from the absent minded waiter.. half an hour later, after the very bland meal, he came back to tell it did contain milk products… how careless and irresponsible can people be… will never go back. The wine also was horrid. We ordered Merlot. When brought, it didn’t tast like it. When asked, the waiter said it was red wine, he didn’t know more. To be avoided
