I shared a meal/plate for two which included fish, beef, lamb etc. You had to eat the dishes with a special pancake, not with any cutlery, which was fun for a change. I'd definitely recommend that. The food was delicious! Not something I'd want every week, but very nice every once in a while.

Surprising little gem. The menu consisted mostly of dishes I'd never heard of. All the dishes we tried were really tasty and really well prepared. Staff were extremely friendly and service was first class. The dining area was a little dark, but the ambience was very good with a pleasant mix of African music playing gently in the background. Prices... More

We had dinner here with 6 persons and we all ordered the Eastern African dishes. A few of us were first timers eating African food so we all ordered different dishes to try out. The lamb stew (Kelwa) of my boyfriend was tough and somewhat tasteless, but my chicken dish was really nice and had a nice spiciness to it... More

You are in for a tasty treat if you havent tried the cuisine. Even if you have, the place keeps calling you back. Great meats, different veggies and serves in the traditional Ethiopian style make this restaurant unique. You had a great collection of African beers as well. Reservations arent always necessary but a good idea during busy times.

The most important thing in a restaurant is mood, but this dinner destroy our nice day. Our hotel tell us Smaak offer crocodiles is very cool and special that we never try before, so we try this restaurant. Menu with lots of African name that we never seen before, and we don’t know how to choose the meal, waitress recommend... More

Because of the location, this restaurant isn't the one where you're pushed against your neighbours while you try to eat. It's always fun-busy, which makes the atmosphere great. The food is a-mazing, next to that I also love the way of traditions they bring in (eat with your hands and a local pancake, feed your neighbor 'cause it shows friendship).... More

Try order the Oost Afrika Special (there's chicken, fish, lamb and beef in one plate) and some other menu like ZGNI Special (beef) and ASSA/KELWA Special (pangasius fish). You can order some menus in one big platter and eat them with your hands (if you prefer to). Price is very reasonable for great taste they gave. Oh, it's better to... More

This is one of my favorite places in Rotterdam. Absolutely delicious and a little exotic. Some of the dishes are served to eat by hand using the pancake-like bread. The atmosphere is also somehow African with a lot of decorations. Even better, prices are quite affordable. Absolutely good value!
