One of the excursions off our cruise ship included a walking tour of Gouda & visiting Van Den Berg, Siroopwafels & Banketbakkerij-Tearoom. We went there primarily for the stroopwafel workshop, where we all had an opportunity to watch & eventually make our own waffels. We...had a short history of the wafels before we made our own & ATE it. A freshly made wafel is something you don't want to miss. However, I'm not sure about the logistics about booking a wafel workshop as it was put together by our guide. We did not have time to eat here as we were on a schedule.
Amongst other things, you can buy souvenirs, cookies, cakes, candy of course the wafels here.
Note: Not rating the restaurant or food, but after eating the wafel, I can't imagine the food nothing less than good.
Overall I would rate our visit here above average, GOOD.More
We came here for fresh warm stroopwafels but they all seemed to be pre-made so we ordered a hot chocolate and some pastries instead. They had a great selection of hot chocolate, offered in a box like tea! The cheese croissant was absolutely amazing! We...were slightly disappointed initially by the lack of fresh stroopwafels but we were completely won over by the food that we did order. They also had a great selection of mugs and stroopwafels in tins for souvenirs.More
Had a tasteful lunch with my parents and ordered delicious cakes as dessert!
They have English menu and helpful waitress working in there! Good option in Gouda, located in a lovely street - we were walking around and found it - we were impressed for...its long existence (close to 1860) and decided to pay a visit inside.
Loved the Black Angus and Gouda cheese croquettes, and the truffle cake. Cheesecake was also good.More
Looks like a bakery, but there is quite a number of seats and tables in the back, in a wooden interieur. With a short menu of savory snacks (tried the Gouda fondue in two fresh bread buns) and nice cakes and hot drinks (the hot...chocolate from the Belgian chocolatier Caillebaut is worth trying).More
