We have lunch with my friends in this place. The attention was regular, perhaps it was so since we were young and that we were going to ask for little. The quality of the food is average, and it is at the price of Holland....Everything is expensive here. I ordered a traditional burger, and it was fine. I really don't know if I eat there again if I go back to Zaanse SchanseMore

Visited here for dinner when staying at the B&B next door at the end of September '19 on the first night of their new menu; we took the 5 course menu, which is a chef surprise based on the dishes on the main menus, Prior...to taking our order we were given an amuse bouche and some bread served with chestnut butter and guacamole. Our first course was a crab dish with avocado ice cream and was delicious, second course was squid with mushrooms and onions in sauce. Third was a dish of carrots - a little odd, just carrots cooked different ways, but was tasty, Forth was slow cooked rib and desert was pear panna cotta with lavender ice cream and cookies. I thought the panna cotta was a tad grainy - but ate it anyway, lol. I had a glass of very nice dessert wine and hubby had a couple of local beers - we also had a carafe of water which was not upsold to bottled water. The staff, all evening, were attentive and friendly, and translated/explained the menu courses in english to us, and we had a good evening. The total price for the evening came to 120e - not the cheapest meal, but good value for the quality of the food, and nt bad for a special night out.More

The only good thing in this restaurant was the free wi-fi! I came to visit the windmills with my boyfriend and we stopped here to eat lunch. I ordered a Caprese Salad and he ordered the soup of the day. Firstly, we asked the waitress...twice what the soup of the day consisted of and she didn't even know how to explain it to us!Secondly, my salad had TONS OF PESTO! All I could taste was PESTO and nothing else! Not to mention the fact that we waited for almost 15 minutes to receive menues.(and the restaurant was half empty, by the way). Terrible experience!JUST Expensive and nothing more!More

Popped in here to get away from all of the tourists at Zaanse Schans, and to rest our feet. Grabbed a seat on the deck with fantastic views of the windmills on the lake. Ordered a sampler plat of Bitterballen and , of course, beer!...Great little snack. You should eat here on a nice day for the best views!More

A chique restaurant with an informal vibe. The terrace is romantic and the view amazing. The food is very good, high standard. My favorite were the oysters, but the menu changed, so unfortunately no more oysters are served now! Still definitely a recommendation for family...dinners, business dinners or for a date:) gluten free options available!More

This review comes after visiting the restaurant for the second time. The quality of the food is good; the catch of the day dishes are particularly pleasing. The food tastes fresh and is often well complimented with a variety of seasonal vegetables. In regards to...pricing; food at this restaurant does not come cheap however that being said it is not meant to be cheap, it's meant to be a treat. Quality produce and pleasant waiters and waitresses, will certainly visit again.More

My family and I left the restaurant without our lunch because the staff were extremely inflexible, rude, racist, and arrogant to say the least. The most ironic thing is that the one of the male waiters himself is a Chinese too - what a joke....The bad experience started from the moment we stepped in, when we were told rudely by the front of house that the kitchen does not open till 12pm - granted we were early but for a restaurant under the Michelin Guide (doubt it’s recent), you would serve us drinks first. Second when I asked for the menu just to first decide on what to order, I was again told rudely by the front of house ‘It’s here...’ - yep, I was instructed to get the menu myself when I’m a paying guest. Note that we were the only ones in the restaurant. The final straw came when they refused to let us sit indoors even though we found insects at the outdoor terrace, where we were seated at. The male waiter told us to leave if we do not want to sit outdoors and there’s a restaurant that sits guests indoors across the bridge on the left. I am appalled that we were being chased away so rudely - this is the worst worst worst experience I’ve had in Europe - oh, and my family and I come to Europe every year for holidays. Such distasteful service - I would give this place negative rating if I could.More

Our team dinner here was very memorable. We enjoyed cocktails in the cozy rustic bar area which was just blissful. We then enjoyed a 5 course dinner which was nearly perfection. The only disappointment was the chef chose two back to back cold tartare starters...which was a bit odd given the first course was a cold carrot soup. The cold soup was followed by beef tartare and the salmon tartare, so of the five courses 3 were cold. Given that is was a chilly evening, we would have all preferred warm starters and certainly not two tartare options. Having said that the dinner while expensive was divine. I would recommend over and over again. The location offers a gorgeous patio for dining by the water and views of Amsterdam's famous windmills.More

As one of the owners I have answered your question 5 days ago but apparently this didn't come through. But we do serve lunch with local dishes and classics as well as local craft beer etc. Hope to see you around, best... More
