Always have a good meal here having used this restaurant for 25years never had a poor meal and they always try to accomodate if we have not booked in advance.

Great Place!

The place is super cozy. They serve delicious food and maybe even more delicious beer! Beers are from the tap!!! And most of them come from Belgium.

A little gem

We decided to go here after reading the TripAdvisor reviews. We had been in Haarlem for ten days and only just discovered this place in our last few days! As soon as we went in we got a really warm welcome and were shown to a fantastic table in the window. The waitress was very helpful, providing us with useful translations! The beer was great and the food was absolutely fantastic. I ordered the fish of the day, my one son had a kids meal, the other had ribs and my husband had pork. We had puddings too and they were superb. We've eaten out in Amsterdam, Germany, zolendam, Giethoorn, Belgium, Haarlem and Zandvoort while we have been here and this was definitely the best meal we have had. The service was great and the music was perfect. Really like the decor and the ambiance. We were later served by a gentleman, who was also really helpful and kind. We found the whole experience really enjoyable. Thank you Bruxelles! 😊

Excellent food good staff

Had the rack of lamb and the fish of the day finished with ice cream and coffee. Both were cooked to perfection and tasted great. We would gladly go back again.

Excellent Dutch style cuisine

Weekend finish at Bruxelles in Haarlem

Together with family we finished a busy weekend at Bruxelles. Bruxelles itself was also very busy, actually a bit more then we anticipated. We had the round table at the front where we could sit with 6 adults and 3 kids. We shared some small starters and ordered a variety of dishes from the menu. The kids loved their spareribs. As a desert we shared a couple of the daily special which was fantastic. All in all a nice finish of the weekend.

Lively ambience, nice food

Up the steep steps to the restaurant, we were greeted by a very busy and lively restaurant - it had a nice buzz about the place. The Brazilian waitress was very pleasant, efficient and attentive. The service was good. The menu was interesting with a couple of more unusual options. I had the sashimi tuna, followed by the entrecote steak - both very nice and pretty reasonably priced. We particularly liked the chips - multicooked and crunchy. It was all pretty good value. It's a good mid-range restaurant with nice food, good service and lively. Will definitely be back.

Very cheap daily menu, normal main course for €8. Price/quality for the different meals we ate was very high. Upstairs was cozy.

Very nice and affordable place to eat!!!

Been here with my girlfriend on a nice night out. It is located near the town market place in a small side street. The food here is very affordable and very good and they have a wide selection of beers. We will certainly come back here often!

Optimal price-quality ratio, really good atmosphere

Pleasant place in the old centre of Haarlem, in a little alley / street off Smedestraat, which itself leads to the Grote Markt. Bruxelles is specialised in BEER. A lot of beers on draught, and a multitude of bottled beers. That alone makes it worth a visit. But you can eat there as well. Relatively simple food, but very well made. Apart from the regular menu there special cheap daily grubs ("daghap") and even cheaper food as well. But don't be mistaken, they have pricier stuff as well, and of good quality. Friendly staff is included! ;-)

Local bar ambience

This place serves really good bar food. Simple and straightforward food, was very crowded even on a Sunday..was filled with locals with no sight of tourists at all. We were the only one! Can be quite tricky to locate as the entrance is situated at back alley. The only drawback is expensive beer.. 4 euro for half pint only.

Good (lound) atmosphere and belgian beers

This place is nice, with the belgian beers and the bustling atmosphere being the best parts of the experience. The food is average and not exactly on of haarlems culinary highlights, but if you are out for a wet evening with a bunch of friends it's definitely a nice place to to start in high spirits. Generally full, so book in advance!

The place to go in Haarlem

If you have been to Haarlem, you should have gone to Bruxelles. Affordable food, always packed, and nice waiting staff. It's a bit like a diner in the U.S., and this is where you get to know what "gezellig" means. I typically eat here about once a week - they really have a nice deal for their daily meals. Do go here for dinner though.
