Excellent spot for lunch!

I had lunch here on January 8. Laura (quite the hottie!) was my server, and she did a fine job. The beer was cold and the food very good. The place was pretty much packed so I suspect everyone else thinks this place is good, too!

Grand café Brinkman is located very conveniently in the centre of town on Grote Markt. We had dinner here because it’s such an historic place, we just had to see it. The café is huge and very popular. Unfortunately in the evening it was overcrowded and very noisy and we had to sit in a not too attractive back room.... More

Went to Brinkmamn for lunch today with a friend. Lovely location, fast and friendly service even if the place was packed. Had a fresh mint tea- the mint was not the freshest but nice enough-and two shrimp croquettes with bread. At 8,70 EUR it definitely wasnt cheap but the building is very nice and you pay for the central location. Food is... More

We started our day in beautiful Haarlem with breakfast at the Cafe Brinkmann smack dab in the center of the old town at Grote Markt. It couldn't be at a better or more central location. The place has been around for ages (since 1879) and the decor and atmosphere are wonderful. We went for their version of the Dutch uitsmijter.... More

Christmas eve, cold, drizzling and a long wait before carols on the square. What better way to warm up than with gluhwein and hot broccoli and blue cheese soup? No trouble to the friendly staff who served us quickly and with much good humour. Excellent soup, with bits of salmon mixed in (unusual but pleasant) and superb gluhwein with orange... More

Grand Café Brinkmann is a nice place to have a lunch or dinner but even just to stop for a coffee or another drink is fine. It's a real Grand Café/Brasserie like they had in former days. A little bit dark inside but that's the way it should be in a café. They have a big terrace when the weather... More

Fabulous atmoshphere, great menu, so good for people watching. The staff are super friendly and very helpful. The menu is limited but we have eaten here a few times and its always been good. Would recommend for a full meal or just a coffee.

This is truly a lovely old place, with very good food and great service. Try and get a seat by the front window, so you can look out over the square, and go for the comfy red velvet bench seats as the wooden chairs are pretty hard. I had the best steak I've had in years here (Entrecote), cooked to... More

Situated in the centre of Haarlem this thriving eatery practically beckoned the hungry traveller. Great pub style feel about the place with lots and lots of tables and packed to the brim at lunch time. Central bar, great service and our big bowl of hearty pea and sausage soup for lunch was well received. Absolutely delicious. We will return next... More
