Walem isn't the prettiest of places inside but it isn't nasty. Outside you can sit by the Canal and the views are lovely. The food is great. We had the Sole & a Couscous dish and both were lovely meals and there was plenty of it. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Slow but friendly service at a rather windy but very chilled canalside terrace. Lovely place! Also pffer breakfast inside and putsidr and even has a well protected inner terrace. Great atmosphere.

Just ate here - the menu isn't that amazing and the food we had was just extremely boring. With the price level here you really should get way better service and food.

23 euros for the mini beef satay + Vietnamese spring rolls + the lentil soup, good deal for good food and nice service. Full bar plus outside seating.

This cafe restaurant is called 'Walem' I don't know why you would call it land van Walem , just Walem will do ! It has one of those typical Amsterdam Service Staff, Amsterdam Arrogance, where you have the idea that the customers are there for the staff, they get into a discussion with you, sometimes a bit rude. I still... More

One of the reviews mentioned that the service was terrible which surprised me , the staff received us with a very big smile and making jokes all the time .. The food is good also .. Not the greatest restaurant in the neighborhood since there is a big competition from few very good ones but its a good option if... More

We ordered tomato soup for first course, hamburger and gnocchi for main. After 20 min received it all together served on a tiny table. I noticed the ready food was sitting on the counter before it was served to us. When it was finally served all together I complained and the answer was that I should have said that I... More

One waiter for about 50 small tables ?! The service was very slow. Waiting time for two sandwiches 30 minutes. Plus 10 for the drinks. For paying we went inside to prevent another 20 minutes waiting time. Some customers left because the weren't served even welcomed within 10 minutes. The food was quite good though and pretty tasty.

This is a wonderful place for coffee, lunch dinner and people watching. It is always very busy when the weather is sunny outside. Offer a variety of menu items from soups, sandwiches, salads. Desserts. Coffee, drinks

During our short stay in Amsterdam me and my partner passed by this place. It looked inviting and we decided to have dinner here. The staff welcomed us in a very nice manner. The dinner menu was short, with something for everyone's liking: Burger, gnocchi, duck, veal, fish, steak and the daily special. Also there were 3 meal salads and... More
