Tasty, hearty proper Dutch food for a cold day, just what we needed. Whether you want soup and a roll at lunchtime or the full works for dinner you can expect to eat very well at a modest price. The herring starter was only excelled by the cheese board with its accompanying fruitbread for dessert. I was asked how well... More

I have had quite a few dinners and lunches at the restaurant. I love, love, love the pancakes for lunch, the stampots (any variety, but the Andijvie is my favorite) for dinner and the traditional peasoup is really good.

We had dinner in this restaurant as a family of three including our nine year old daughter. The restaurant was very busy but we managed to arrive at a time where they could accommodate us. They were still welcoming customers at ten o'clock. The food was good and it gave us a chance to try Dutch dishes. The staff were... More

Not much to report really. Pea soup with bacon delicious, not really a beerplace, Heineken orAmstel on draft. Soup excellent, service friendly, the apple pie looked very good but no room!

The location is very typical and the staff is very kind. The food is amazing and the position of the restaurant is perfect for tourists that want to visit the city and the price is good. Absolutely to try!

A nice place, English Friendly. The sat is right away, the food was tasty and prompt. We had the Stampots (meatball and sausage) and the Chicken Satay. All three dishes were great!

We were seated promptly due to our 700pm arrival....thankfully so because it got very busy shortly thereafter. On of my table mates had the mussels which were fantastic. I had the pork chop selection and unfortunately it was overdone. The service was friendly and professional.

We had asked Dutch friends in Spain for some traditional dishes to try when we visit Amsterdam. Armed with a list of typical foods for which to look, we found this restaurant and ticked off four; haring, erwettensoep, stamppot and rookworst. Not surprisingly, we departed stuffed and unable to have cleaned off our plates. HARING : raw, pickled herring, smothered... More

We are a typical dutch restaurant with only local fresh food. Great beers from Amsterdam and local wines.
