This is a classic Amsterdam Brasserie specializing in seafood. The choices range from caviar and oysters to skate, cod and flounder. Get the waiters to translate the offerings on the blackboard, and check there first before checking the menu. Also, the wine offerings are quite...More

Food is very good. But stuff doesn't know what is inside the dish. I am allergic to nuts, so I asked the stuff to look through, and not to put nuts in my fish. They probably did not know the ingridients, and assured me, that...More

We were determined to have Lobster and Brasserie Bark did not let us down. Booking between pre and post Theatre ensures you get a table. The service was pleasant.

The whole experience was a bit dreary - food not exciting (and how weird to serve Lobster mornay on a bed of fried rice and noodles), atmosphere a bit sterile, staff not that friendly. Had the advantage of being close to the hotel on a...More

Bark is conveniently located near Concertgebouw. The staff is courteous and professional on a busy night. The menu is unchanged and filled with familiar dishes (for a regular). The food is fine, but it does not sparkle.

There is a wide variety of dishes, other meats are available, and very tasty. Fish is only one option. You'll be fine.

Inspired by the characteristic brasseries in Brussels and Paris, Brasserie Bark is a lively seafood restaurant in Amsterdam's museum quarter. On the menu you'll find an assortment of fish and seafood dishes, from oysters to lobster, salmon to sole and even swordfish. The house speciality is the 'fruits de mer', an impressive selection of shellfish served over ice. The restaurant takes particular pride in only using fresh produce, which means that the menu changes 5-6 times a year, according to the season. Rather unusually for a restaurant in Amsterdam, Brasserie Bark stays open until midnight, so whether you are going for an informal dinner or business meeting, time need not be an issue.
