This little gem is run by the Green owner and his Dutch wife. The food is authentic and the dishes are arrayed in a beautiful display so you can always take some ready made salads, pastries, or other great food home with you, too. We had gyros, domas, spanikopita, tiropita and tea. It was fantastic! The service was friendly and... More

Romios is a small home-owned Greek restaurant that we consider to be a real find during our week in Amsterdam. The food was great, and we tried nearly everything on the menu (including desserts) at least once. All current menu items are viewed through a glass case, and everyone working there provided helpful answers to our many questions. From the... More

I visit Amsterdam almost every year, and since I discovered Romios Greekse Tratorie while walking aroung Ceintuurbaan area, I eat there on every visit. You can either take food away or eat there. Food is HIGH QUALITY, which is almost imposible to find at low price in Amsterdam Centrum. I work in a travel agency, associated with Carlson Wagonlit Travel,... More

While walking along Ceintuurbaan, a cozy delicatessen restaurant had drawn our attention. Stepping in, we had the chance to view all the menu that was available behind a window screen! We decided to get a table for us after choosing what to eat. Everything was so fresh and full of taste that we couldn't believe that altough we are Greeks,... More

Staying in De Pijp

Neighborhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
