We had one evening in Amsterdam and just happened to find this place. It was great! We both ordered a plate with a variety of food and we loved every bite! Friendly service too.

Only one night in Amsterdam this time around so we did an Internet search to see what was open in the way of Indonesian restaurants on a Sunday night. We came across this one and the reviews sounded good so off we went. We were certainly not disappointed, the people were warm and friendly and the food good. We ordered... More

The hosts of our B and B recommended this restaurant, as they frequent it. It was excellent! I was so happy they could accomodate my celiac disease needs, as I so wanted to try Indonesian food in Amsterdam. The atmosphere was interesting, too. We highly recommend this restaurant.

We had been recommended to go to the Indonesian restaurant next door but were greeted by a stern woman and a half open door and told they were fully booked all weekend. Thank goodness. This place is a great drop on. Admittedly the décor is dated and is average in quality, the wine glasses cheap and wine choice limited but... More

I stopped here for lunch and had the shrimp sate with vegetables. Pretty tasty. I sat in the window seat and had a nice view of the busy street.

This was our first experience of a rijsttafel - a traditional Indonesian dish comprising two types of rice and about 18 little dishes of beef/chicken/vegetables ranging from mild, through medium, to hot in taste. It was as good as the guide books and reviews had said it would be. Small, friendly restaurant. Advisable to book in advance.

In a central place in Amsterdam, adjacent to a more elegant Indonesian restaurant where you have to reserve, is this nice, non-pretentious place. There was an empty table. The food didn't arrive right away, which for me is a sign that was prepared when I ordered. I came for the rijsttafel, which is 2 kind of rice and about 10... More

Excellent food, excellent service. Small, friendly restaurant which is well worth a visit. We had the house special Rice table - lovely mix of flavours ranging from mild and aromatic to seriously hot and spicy.

Really friendly staff, and delicious honest food. Freshly made and served with a little introduction from the staff. Plenty of food, had an rijstaffel (vegetairan).

Had been recommended this place by friends who live in Amsterdam, and who had informed me that a friend of theirs, an Indonesian Embassy member from the Hague, had bemoaned the fact that Indonesian food in the Netherlands was not as good as it had been, but that Tujuh Maret was one of the better options. I chose the €18... More
