I have been staying at the Ambassade for over 25 years. While it has grown in services offered and number of rooms, it hasn't lost it's charm and uniqueness as a small hotel. Whenever I return, it's like returning to a "favorite" spot, a warm...environment. The staff and service is impeccable. I meet business colleagues, friends and family for drinks and conversation in the bar which wasn't there originally. On this trip I had two daughters plus a business colleague from Helsinki. We all enjoyed the comfort of "our home away from home", casual but formal and relaxing. It is one of my favorite small hotels!More

We dined at several fine restaurants in Amsterdam and this was by far the absolute best! The food and service was impeccable!

Enjoyed four breakfasts during our stay at the hotel. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. The choice of cooked food on the menu is a little limited ... if you don't like eggs you're going to have a very small...choice!More

Fantastic evening at Restaurant Ambassade. The location on the canals is phenomenal so before you enter you are already in a good mood. The restaurant itself is beautifully furnished, great art on the walls. The staff is very friendly, (special shoutout to Dave who gave...us a big smile on our faces and Zofia who was so kind!). The food was brilliant: refreshing new dishes with incredible taste! Big compliments to chef Derek and his team! We especially loves the mushroom dish and the venison, but, it’s hard to choose as everything was very tasty. In conclusion: one of my favorite restaurants! See you all soon!More

Even though we were in Amsterdam, we visited this French-inspired restaurant for an evening meal. The brasserie is situated withing the Hotel Ambassade but there is access to the side for those not wishing to enter the hotel itself. Staff were very friendly and helpful,...and efficient. And the table-wear was very nice. We had a couple of courses each plus bread at the start. Our entrees were probably our favourite - my wife with her souffle (with egg yolk on top) and me with my vegetable terrine. That said, my lamb main was also very nice. This was our last meal in Amsterdam before we headed back home to Australia and it was a great way to finish.More

We enjoyed excellent service and the highest rated meal we had in Amsterdam here. Peaceful scenic setting outside by the canal for a drink, and modern artistic setting inside for dinner.

An exceptional dining experience. Wonderful service and amazing food. Thank you for making my birthday so special and making my partner’s request of a canal view happen for me. We were staying at the Pulitzer hotel but decided to have my birthday celebratory meal a...short walk away at this restaurant. The starters, mains and desert were exceptional and beautifully presented and we are so pleased we chose here. The waiters were very friendly and efficient, serving us at just the right pace. They were so helpful in trying to select a wine we would like. The only improvement we could suggest is possibly having a wine expert to suggest the perfect pairing. We highly recommend a meal at the Ambassade.More

The Brasserie Ambassade is much more than a standard “hotel restaurant”. The staff was friendly and the service was quick and efficient. The breakfast buffet was delicious and included a wide range of tasty offerings. And as good as breakfast was, the dinner service was...truly exceptional. The menu was diverse, dish presentations were beautiful, every bite was exceptional and tasty, and the wine list was was clearly curated with care, offering perfect pairings with the delicious dishes on the menu. I highly recommend a meal at the Brasserie Ambassade, whether staying at the hotel or elsewhere.More

Food was just okay but overpriced. The service was fine but felt that the servers could have been nicer like the rest of amsterdam. Accommodating to my gluten free and vegan friends.

We enjoyed a magical slow lunch at Brasserie Ambassade, overlooking the canal. We were blessed to receive a window table to soak up the views we are all too familiar with and love in Amsterdam. Brasserie Ambassade is the warmest restaurant where the team make...you feel at home, and we felt like we were part of the family within minutes. The food and wine were exceptional and very affordable. A fixed-price lunch for an amicable price will help with the decision-making, and you can sample the exquisite cuisine. Take your time perusing the wine menu over a glass of champagne, as they have an excellent selection of premium wines. Amsterdam, you have the dining scene fit for a Queen; we can't will to be back and explore more of this enticing menu and revisit the lovely team.More

After a busy day seeing some of Amsterdam's wonderful sights, we decided to stay in and eat at our hotel's restaurant. The restaurant itself is in an excellent location. The service was truly impeccable. Our waitress knew the menu and the wine list very well....The food was quite good and very interesting. I ordered a traditional onion pie for dinner. This pie consisted of a 4" diameter pastry base and a beautifully arranged carmelized onion on top of the base. A separate sauce was poured onto my plate at the table. It was delicious -- all 6 bites of it. It was 28 euros. I am an idiot.More

The dress code is not formal, and unless your jeans are dirty or torn, they would be acceptable. Most patrons are dressed just a bit nicer than jeans, however.
