On the water... Downtown Amsterdam. About 10 min walk from train station. Very nice service. Had orange soup which was nice. But the Tomahawk steak was delicious .. And huge. It's to share.

This restaurant is very close to where i live. I visit it a lot. They just changed the menu and i love it. The new veal tartar, the oysters and the scallops are excellent. The meat is amazing, no doubt it was considered by the main newspaper of the city the 6th best meat restaurant of Amsterdam...! All the desserts... More

Must visit while in Amsterdam! My sister and I had dinner at de Luwte and it exceeded our already high expectations. We both ordered the fish of the day special which happened to be salmon with cous cous! I eat salmon nearly 5 times a week and this was one of the best dishes I have had. This place has... More

Just walking on the streets saw some good looking place and decided to check out the menu. We had to guys in our company and the menu had Chateaubriand for 2... More

An old building in an even older area of the city and around the corner from the Anne Frank house. The student like staff is able to link atmosphere and service quite well. The menu is balanced and the prices are reasonable.

Business dinner was had here. We had mains only and one dessert. Fish was cooked to perfection and dessert was perfect - light and not too sweet. Service was very friendly. Plates that the dishes are served in are Artistic.

The sunset on the canal during the dinner it's been incredible. The service has been kind and gentle and the dishes were so particular and well presented. We ordered a bottle of Chardonnay and oysters and tuna tartar as starters. Then the Dutch duck and the Iberic neck. Also dessert has been a surprise! Perfect.

Went to Amsterdam mid June 2016 and had the pleasure of dining at de Luwte one evening. Truth be told, I wish we had also eaten at this establishment on our last nite in town. Wonderful ambience and within a 2 minute walk from the Toren Hotel where we stayed. Did not have a reservation but it was no problem.... More

Description
Restaurant De Luwte has been a well-known establishment located at the Leliegracht in Amsterdam for over 27 years. This winter, it has renewed the look.As soon as you walk in you feel the warmth. Warmth coming from the cosy fireplace, but also the natural colors and materials surrounding you. You find yourself amongst the locals and internationals. Enjoy a nice glass of red wine by the fireplace, a special diner with a view over the Leliegracht or taste different cocktails below our vertical garden. The name 'De Luwte' means 'out of the wind' or a 'sheltered place'. De Luwte is a calm, relaxing spot in the centre of Amsterdam where you can escape the bustle of the city into a cosy and relaxing place. We have an international menu with a nod to the Mediterrenaen kitchen. To everyone's wish our menu is an affordable, obtainable and interesting answer.
