Had the window table, loved it. The fresh bread was to die for, as were the scallops! The oysters were plump and juicy. The 700g boneless rib-eye was shared and cooked to perfection. The Surf & Turf wasn't as good. The cod was cooked well...More

There is a €65 prime rib on their menu. Stay away from it. It was among the lowest quality steak that I’ve ever had. After trying to find pieces of meat that we could actually chew, we have noticed that maybe only half of the...More

The restaurant ambiance, location, our waitress were all good. The first few bites from the “Prime Rib” was also good. Salty and charred outside and pink/red inside. However very soon we started experiencing lots of bites that we simply couldn’t chew. Then this became the...More

We had a delicious dinner at the upscale de Luwte. It's located on a quiet & charming canal street a few blocks from the Anne Frank House.

Booked by my partner because it is well reviewed for local restaurant to hotel. We ate at Zaza's the night before (see separate review), I will say that de Luwte had a hard act to follow. Anyway to keep things short , the service was...More

As above, the restaurant is not very big and they would probably be able to accommodate you in one part by rearranging the tables

Description
Restaurant De Luwte has been a well-known establishment located at the Leliegracht in Amsterdam for over 27 years. This winter, it has renewed the look.As soon as you walk in you feel the warmth. Warmth coming from the cosy fireplace, but also the natural colors and materials surrounding you. You find yourself amongst the locals and internationals. Enjoy a nice glass of red wine by the fireplace, a special diner with a view over the Leliegracht or taste different cocktails below our vertical garden. The name 'De Luwte' means 'out of the wind' or a 'sheltered place'. De Luwte is a calm, relaxing spot in the centre of Amsterdam where you can escape the bustle of the city into a cosy and relaxing place. We have an international menu with a nod to the Mediterrenaen kitchen. To everyone's wish our menu is an affordable, obtainable and interesting answer.
