Bad bad bad. Everything was sold out, we wanted to have lobster, waitress said its sold out. Ordered another thing, oysters were finished. Had steak as main (medium rare) delivered well done. Staff were not very feedback oriented. Not all but there was one who...was not nice. Always went here but very bad now. Will never come back unfortunately.More

On Sunday September 13 we had a great lunch experience at De Luwte. Read how the story built up. In corona times it is nice to sit outside prevailing the weather. Looking at the menu I wanted to opt for fish. A bit disappointing to...hear that all fish was sold out following a busy Saturday and on Sunday they don't restock. So looking at meat I decided for the Tournedos (Filet Mignon) knowing that meat in the Netherlands cannot compete with US standards. Double checked with the waiter and she reassured me that I would not be disappointed. My wife choose for a small dish but also meat: Carpaccio. While enjoying a superb Sauvignon Blanc (Wild Rock, New Zealand) our dishes were served. The second best steak in Amsterdam (Mr Porter in the W Hotel is the champion) and the best carpaccio ever. Waitress with experience at Emirates and Australia was an asset to the venue. We certainly will return.More

The place is beautiful near the canals and the atmosphere is nice, however we found the food to be not good and overpriced. It was especially disappointing that the place didn’t have one single vegetarian main dish... in this age. As an appetizer, we had...the vegetarian sushi (€14 for 4 pieces) and this was undercooked. Without anything else to eat we went for the lobster as main course and scampi spaghetti. The lobster was small and nothing too special, neither was the scampi spaghetti with too much sauce, dry scampi and little spinach. The best thing was the lava cake as desert (really good! But it was a special). The service was friendly but late, had to remind them several times of both our drinks and dinner orders. My friends had the steak and the steak tartar and they loved it, so make sure you are a meat lover for this restaurant. (Again, a shame, that you have no choice in this day with the known impact of meat of the planet..).More

The food was very good but portions very small. My salmon with salad, for well over 20 Euros was the size of a starter. I would have left very hungry if I hadn't ordered fries. The whole staff was English-speaking, the guests in the restaurant...mainly Dutch. I know that an all English speaking staff is not uncommon in Amsterdam, but really, this is not (just) a tourist joint. The atmosphere among the staff was very tense. The way we were seated we were very aware of it and it did not make us feel comfortable the way they were bickering and the waitresses were being ordered around. We didn't stay for dessert. This could be a lovely place with good food and ambiance but it didn't convince us at all. Too bad!More

Lovely atmosphere with great food and lovely staff. We had the tomahawk which was amazing - the sides and sauces were all brilliant. We shared the creme brûlée which had a great flavour - very generous portions!

The food is excellent; the ambiance is very nice (we were there eating early and so it was quiet); and the staff is loveluy. Gina took very good care of us, and it will be our "go to" restaurant when we are next in Amsterdam.

So, food was ok but service was awful. The guy serving us completely messed up table next to us, no idea if had mains vs starters vs dessert gave them chips for another table.... delayed picking up plates left with them on table for 20-30mins.......they never offered us dessert... chatted with mates above being attentive to customers. Nice people but service let down food badly.....More

A real gem of a restaurant and only 2 minutes walk from our hotel. An incredibly warm welcome from our waitresses Gina and Pia who gave us first class menu and wine recommendations. Would wholeheartedly recommend this fabulous restaurant to anyone who enjoys and appreciates...good food and wine.More

We chose to go here for New Year’s Eve and we’re so happy that we did! The menu is simply wonderful with many different kinds of options. We started with tasty shrimp dumplings, beautifully garnished, and beef tartare but when we saw our neighbors’ oysters,...we ordered some ourselves. (They came from northern France snd were plump and flavorful.) All the appetizers were just delicious. We followed them with the wonderful tuna dish as well as a beef tenderloin. Each was expertly prepared - perfect for the particular dish itself. We enjoyed cava from the bar followed by an excellent red wine. All in all, the server, our neighbors sitting next to us, and the ambience helped to contribute to a delightful evening. We discovered along the way that many professional hotel employees and restaurant professionals as well adore this restaurant so that says a lot. It’s clear that you have to reserve in advance.More

As above, the restaurant is not very big and they would probably be able to accommodate you in one part by rearranging the tables
