I'd never been to an Indonesian restaurant before so didn't know what to expect but this place is amazing. It has a lovely friendly feel to it. Staff a great and very helpful at explaining the dishes. We had the rice-table (Indonesian banquet) to share between two of us. Absolutely masses of food and it was great to try all... More

We visited on our first night in Amsterdam and it was such a fun evening. Met by the friendly host who offered us drinks at the bar and got is a table in no time. We shared the Rijsttafel - lots of little different dishes, covered the table with around 25 different things to try. Really tasty food and all... More

I was part of a group of seven people celebrating friend's birthday at this Indonesian restaurant. We had a spread covering a wide range of the meats, fruits, vegetables and rices this restaurant serves. It is always difficult to review such a wide range of meals (inevitably, I preferred some of the dishes to others), but they were all tasty... More

Great meal with very nice house wine - would definitely recommend this restaurant, whether you've had this Indonesian banquet before or not.

Very special dinner near the museum area and vondelpark. Dinner is characteristic for sweet and salted flavours, and staff incredible nice and always smiling. Very nice the attention to serve the customer. It is possible to ask vegan choice.

Really traditional indonesian restaurant with feeling that each of the staff was a member of bigger family. They loved what they were doing!

Last week we, group of 6 persons, tried out this restaurant and had tthe rise table. Portioning was not good, espacially the so called smoor dishes, taste not delicate at all and not representative for the delicate Indonesian cuisine. Waitors did not name the individual dishes correctly. Conclusion: there is a lot of room for improvement!

This is a place where you see a lot of locals. The service is not the most polite, but the food is authentic Indonesian and it is tasty. We had a menu meal so we got numerous small plates of different dishes. Everything tasted really ok and it was slightly spicy but not too hot. I can say this is... More

We were looking for somewhere to eat late at night on the way back to our hotel and this was one of the few restaurants that was still open. Yes, it was late but the staff were rude and the food was literally "dumped" in front of us. We weren't particularly hungry and one dish with some rice would have... More

Just about the worst meal EVER! It was packed - no clue what . Went there because Rick Steves said it was the best Indonesian place for Rijstafel. Next time, R. Steves to be used only for sight seeing and museums. NOT for food! Last night in Amsterdam - MOST disappointing. Have to find something in NYC to forget it.... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
