Good introduction to Indonesian food. We went for lunch and got satay and came back for dinner to get the rijsttafal sampler. The service was excellent and the food was great.

Visited here tonight and nice Dutch barman/ bar manager seated us at the bar as we had no booking and it was busy. The menu reads a little complicated but no help given. Food came out in 4 mins therefore all " a la bing " microwave. Food piled on a plate not very well presented. Would not return 😟

Good points are that service is quick, food is plentiful, the place is always busy and it has good atmosphere. Bad things are that everything is pre-prepared. The food is on your table in minutes. Many of the dishes are lukewarm and the sauces often gloopy and taste formulaic with no charm whatsoever. Good fun as a one off and... More

This was my second visit to this restaurant and all the positives and negatives were the same! Firstly, the food is excellent. Go with the set menu and you will try a LOT of different things and never leave hungry. Staff is very friendly, but overly quick and less attentive. Expect rice and wine in your hair and on your... Great build up, sadly the reality was not so good. We were a group of 15, so I appreciate this would always be a challenge. Food arrived really fast resulting in poor quality. Meet was tough, fried chicken over cooked (dry), the satay was dry, rice was average, coconut flakes poorly cook, the vegetarian dishes badly done, tofu chopped into... More

This was recommended to us by our Lonely Planet guidebook and boy did it really wake us up from the standard dutch fare! The food was cooked fresh, coconut rice and beef rending with a great portion of sambal sauce to keep the heat in. Although we went for lunch and it was a fairly heavy meal, you got the... More

I am a fan of exotic cuisine and wanted to try an Indonesian restaurant. This one was recommended by our hotel. We had the rijsttafel and took our time tasting every dish. Don't hesitate to ask the server which sauce is spicy, what the different dishes are, etc. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. The sauces were not spicy... More

Great Indonesian cuisine............ located very near my hotel, I decided to try my first meal in Amsterdam, and did not regret it at all!!!!!!!!!! A bit (or a lot!) of the best at the place. Warm and welcoming place! Just the ideal for a solo traveller..........

We went here to eat the traditional rice table based upon recommendations for our bike tour company. Unfortunately, this restaurant has some substantial problems. The food was quickly ushered to our table once ordered, with little or no description of many of the dishes. The complexity of flavor was lacking and many dishes tasted quite similar. The best dish was... More

We loved the food, and we ordered Indonesian Reistaffel like almost anybody else in the restaurant. Make a table reservation, or wait in the bar and have a beer or a drink, while you wait. The waiters are some of the most effective ones I have ever seen. We were seated and the food was there within 5-10 minutes, and... More

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
