Although the restaurant is next to the main road, the tables further in are next to the water and you can watch the boats pass by. The food is good value and the staff are friendly. The house wine is excellent value.

We popped in for dinner in the evening and the service was quick to take the order, but it was a little slow coming out to the table. Not a major problem as we had our wine to drink. Nibbles were offered with the wine while waiting for the meal. Prices were fairly reasonable for a restaurant close to Centraal... More

This is not a Mexican or Steakhouse... Awful food.. We ordered the Combie Guadalupe.. Just unseasoned cheap minced beef (maybe?) with lot of celery, a saggy tortilla and stone cool rice .. Also, a Beef Fajita which is a beef stew (not Mexican at all), the mix Grill.. With over-grilled beef and cool BBQ chicken and spare ribs and a... More

Visited twice during a brief trip to the city. Although the veg in the vegetarian options was clearly frozen and reheated, the sauce was well seasoned and had just the right level of heat. The side salad, salsa, sour cream, guacamole and nachos cannot be faulted; fresh, tasty and filling. Prices very reasonable for a city-centre restaurant. There was a... More

This is a very attractive Spanish/tapas restaurant on Prinsehendrickkade . Nice view of a canal and reasonable food and service.

Nice location, hospitable staff. Poor food. The Wiener Schnitzel seemed to be bought from the super market and fried on the spot.

If you are close to the central station or sleeping in a boat in front of Memo expo center, Guadalupe is a good place to have lunch/dinner. The menu choice is quite big and the prices are more than reasonable. The restaurant offers outside sitting and they also have heating lamps (as it can be a bit chilly in AMS... More

This place is as Mexican as a taco Bell with liquor. Only have one kind of tequila. Nachos are terrible. Service is bad. My friend had fish and chips. I Was giving him a hard time for ordering fish and chips at a Mexican restaurant. He didn't like it either he took a bite and left it. Asked for sauce... More

We waited a long time for the food. During this time the Manager asked if I spoke Dutch and I said no. When the food came my wife's "Greek salad" bore no relationship to a Greek Salad. It had no union and was inedible for her, swamped in some kind of oil that she did not apply and the feta... More

I had a couple of hours to waste before catching train and was hungry. I took a chance and visited Guadalupe. Overall rating was poor but recent reviews good. I was lucky - the recent reviewers were accurate. A good honest restaurant. Hearty Mexican food (I had chicken burrito) and a couple of Amstels. My only complaint would be the... More

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
