I've lived here 14 years and remember how terrible service used to be here. Thankfully, the service sector has improved leaps and bounds. But sometimes, you find that attitude of "we're doing you a favor". This was one of those places. A friend visiting from...More

Dear Letvs, I'm sorry to hear about your bad experience at Cafe de Blaffende Vis. On busy evenings, we remove one table in front of our bar to make room for our guests to have a drink. Both up- and downstairs we are happy to...More

Simple but high quality food in the heart of the trendy Jordaan neighbourhood. Low prices, incredibly friendly service and a good atmosphere. Would recommend to everyone!

A very cozy pub in the heart of Jordaan. Definitely worth to visit if you are in the neighborhood. We were lucky enough to sit in the sun on the terrace. An extensive beer list with a wide range of draft beers. I went for...More

We kept on walking up Westerstraat away from the square as the cafes were heaving & chanced upon the Blaffende Vis where we found excellent beer & food at reasonable prices. My wife raved about the Goat's cheese salad & my Hamburger & fries was...More

The sun was out and then the terrace of the Blaffende Vis is the place to be. Join the locals and people who enjoy the start of their weekend. There is always a vegi, meat or fish dish. The white bear is great and if...More

We stopped in for an afternoon snack and a drink. We had bitterballen which were very good. My partner ordered from their large beer selection. Lots of Belgium beers on offer. I had a glass of wine, a mistake I know. They only had one...More

I went to this restaurant with a group of Dutch colleagues and I have mixed feelings about it. It is a typical nice Dutch café, with an informal and cozy environment, good for drink a beer and chat with friends. So, if taking it as...More

One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and
some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two
of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll
through this especially convivial warren of narrow
streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and
quality galleries. Historically a haven for the
working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is
better known as an enclave for artists and designers.

Blaffende vis is `one of nicest and busiest matter of Amsterdam, where eating `can price/quality proportion be terribly nice. For a cafe an excellent assessment of spontaneousness and hospitality! A café in the Jordaan that timeless and comfortable. A happening.
