Had a great pub dinner here at the Café. We were staying at a local AirBnB and the café was located just 1 minute walk away and was highly recommended by our AirBnB host. A good choice of Dutch food and drinks with very reasonable prices. The places gets quite busy and is a small venue so would recommend getting... More

Ducked in here for dinner since it started raining. Its very basic and comfortable. The beer list is great and the food menu is really basic and delicious. I could sit here for hours.

We stopped in for an afternoon snack and a drink. We had bitterballen which were very good. My partner ordered from their large beer selection. Lots of Belgium beers on offer. I had a glass of wine, a mistake I know. They only had one red but I ignored the warning signs. Anyway, that is the norm for Amsterdam cafes... More

I went to this restaurant with a group of Dutch colleagues and I have mixed feelings about it. It is a typical nice Dutch café, with an informal and cozy environment, good for drink a beer and chat with friends. So, if taking it as a bar it's fine, because as a restaurant, they have a lot to go. The... More

Lovely old cafe! Food is delicious. We had their breakfast and eggs on toast with ham and cheese. Their butter! OMG. So creamy! And jam is (I think) sour cherry. Yum! Highly recommended.

Went there for lunch with 2 friends, the taste of the food is ok but there is absolutely no effort in the presentation and neither in the making of the dishes... Prices are a bit cheaper than average but as said in the title and compared to what can be found in Amsterdam, the toasts and sandwiches are plain and... More

We came across this place after being disappointed by what was on offer at another cafe that had been recommended. The menu was in Dutch but the barman/waiter soon translated it for us. I ordered lamb curry (too much coriander for me, but that's me ...) and by husband had a burger. Good, tasty food, at reasonable prices - what... More

Great little cafe and bar to stop at on your travels through Amsterdam. You must try the beef croquettes- delicious and something different. Sorry, I keep forgetting to take a photo of the food before I devour it 😜 Top nosh! 👌

Found a news article/review about this cafe so wanted to try it for our selfs. Glad we did! We were there for a late breakfast. Loved it. My partner at the time, ordered the smoked salmon with avocado, cucumber and horseradish mayo sandwich and I had the club sandwich (bacon, smoked turkey, lettuce tomato and mustard mayo) - Both reasonably... We went once for lunch and once for coffee break. The sandwiches were fresh and service quick. The coffee could be improved.

Staying in Jordaan

Neighborhood Profile
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
