This collection of food stalls makes for an interesting change of pace from the standard ‘European cafe scene’. With wildly divergent tastes across the family - there was something for everyone. Light and airy - although crowded when we were there - it was a...great atmosphere. Be prepared to walk around a little to figure it out at first - but then grab some food, a beverage and prepare to enjoy.More

Casual atmosphere with food from Pizza to dim sun to traditional Dutch meatballs and burritos. Trendy place with lots of local atmosphere. Can sit outside in lawn chairs for drinks which many locals were doing. I had the pizza and Battenban meatballs. Both were outstanding....Booths on the outside of the building with casual seating in the center. Definitely worth going to experience the local feel.More

We were so taken aback at the fantastic buzzy atmosphere in the foodhallen that we visited 2 days in a row. The vibe was so different from anything we’ve experienced before. Lovely and chilled even with hundreds of people. Our favourite had to be the...vietnamese concession. The paper rolls and baguettes were fantastic. Bit of a wait for food but it was incredibly busy. They took debit card or cash in each stand we used.More

Very busy but worth it. After a little wait we had a nice place to sit. Cozy and friendly atmosphare. The butcher was delicious. Sweet patato fries must have.

Unique experience! Something to talk about with friends and family at home. Was very very hot in there so that was a downer, however the atmosphere was great.

We loved the TimeOut food halls in Lisbon, and were hoping for more of the same for our visit here - but sadly, it's more Camden Market (London) than we expected. Fairly run of the mill fast-food, international rather than local, very limited seating -...and you need to get the app to order, which complicates things for those of us of a certain age!! But - that's maybe the problem - this place is designed for young people to order drinks and sit all night, getting the occasional small plate of food to keep them going as they absorb more alcohol. We finally selected a few wontons from the chap at the end. Good food, freshly cooked - but not the Amsterdam eating experience we wanted.More

The food I had here was pretty good. However it was far too crowded and after ordering food there was nowhere to sit. The lack of tables meant people were wandering about trying to find seats or having to stand whilst eating. Also people with...allergies such as gluten will struggle to find anything suitable hereMore

The Foodhallen is located several blocks outside of the canal rings. My wife and I decided to go there around 3:30 pm on a weekday afternoon hoping to find something unique / special for a late lunch / early dinner. When we arrived, we found...that the dining hall was overcrowded with no seating available. So, we spent a few minutes perusing the various food vendors. While there was a good variety of international foods available, the vendors appeared to tailor their offerings to the tastes of the local teens who frequent the Foodhallen. The array of international foods that we found at small restaurants within the canal rings appeared to be more diverse and authentic. So, we left without sampling any of the foods at the Foodhallen and decided to dine elsewhere.More

My friend and I ate at the Dim Sum restaurant. The food was good. The overall Foodhallen experience was mediocre. I expected more. The food booths and tables feel jammed into the space even though the place was not crowded at lunch. Some places were...not open. It’s not worth making a special trip. I would only go if I was already in the area.More

A friend and I just wanted a quick lunch/snack while browsing the city. We stopped by Foodhallen, and there were a large variety of different styles of food. If you love fish, and especially fried fish - do your self a favor and stop by...“Brut De Mer” (it’s right beside the G&T bar and is opposite side of the entrance)! I could definitely come back just to eat those squid fries again ;-)More

Think about timing if you want to visit Foodhallen - it's an extremely popular place, so around dinnertime we found it both loud and overpacked with no free tables.

Great place. Lots of people, so you need a little patience and skill to grab a table. However, the food and atmosphere is good. G&T can be recommended.

Located in a neighbourhood that I hadn’t been to previously. About a 10 min walk from the 9 streets. Nice area, and the hall itself is well done out. Lots of great bites to eat. Definitely a place for meeting up with mates. Many large...tables. It’s only real downfall is that it is so popular! Still would highly recommend.More

Visiting this awesome place on a Tuesday evening at around 8pm. It was bustling and vibrant. The smells from the different stalls were so enticing. Taking a walk through the hall and looking at what people were eating is recommended. The only downside was that...it was very warm inside and not very ventilated.More

Hi! Walking is only 25 minutes, but you can also catch tram 17 on the Dam station and get out at the stop Ten Katestraat! This will be around 20 minutes. Have fun! Cheers, Foodhallen

Hi Elsie: It does not seem like the place to me where you could bring your own drinks. They have plenty of bar so that might make them a little mad.
