Well, we're definitely had a delicious dinner, although had few dissatisfactions. Major one. I was told that restaurant will provide birthday related dessert, by my request. So I was relying on that promise and didn't look up for some bakeries etc. Only once birthday came up, when waitress said "Happy Birthday, would you like to order champagne for that occasion?".... We had a five course diner here. It was really delicious, well presented, varied in tastes and the suggested wines really meant an enrichment of the dishes. Before I had visited the hotel only to see some Art Deco rooms. The staff then was so very friendly that I decided to dine here and find out if the service is... More

Bridges is the main restaurant in the historic Grand Soffitel in central Amsterdam. Their degustation menu was basically sea food - all courses were origial and well thought through by an innovative chef. Tables were well spaced, the room was very comfortable, the service top class and the wine and food prices - although quite high were not exorbinant. All... More

Visited Amsterdam for the first time and decided to go the Michelin star restaurant... Bridges has a really nice atmosphere we took the 6 course menu most of them were fantastic. Only one fish dish with carrot and potato was mediocre in our opinion. Bottom line - worth a visit!

We had an excellent diner, my wife and I. Very efficient, kind, and friendly service. We took the Chef menu (5 Courses) : each course was great. There was several fishes (raw cod, mackerel..) and a beef extremely well cooked (rear) Wine list is impressive, at a "reasonable" price and we drunk a great Chassagne-Montrachet A place to go

We went for dinner and ordered the tasting menu. My favorite dish was the risotto with the poached egg. Caviar was also excellent.

We had originally booked for a normal lunch, but found out that Bridges were having a winemakers lunch on our anniversary, we changed our booking and were treated to a fabulous feast. The truffle risotto with mushroom foam was one of the best dishes we have ever eaten, ever. Wine matching as you'd expect, was spot on. This was a... More

We ate here on a Friday evening and found both the food and service outstanding without being intrusive. The tasting menu offers a choice of four, five or six courses and matching wines. We selected the five course option and (fearing excessive alcohol consumption) had half glasses of the matching wines. This is a good choice for a meal for... More

We made reservations at Bridges a couple of days prior to our dinner. We arrived about 45 minutes early because we were walking in the area and decided to wait for our dinner time on the open air patio behind the restaurant and adjoining hotel. This was a very tranquil area with lots of beautiful plants/landscaping and a central fountain.... More

Description
Bridges Inspired by Ron Blaauw Bridges seafood restaurant is located at the front of Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam, the location and the building are special. Bridges restaurant is all about fish! The best 'fins' possible, caught at the best moment. Always in season, never out of it. We offer a large selection of mainly Dutch seafood, whether it is in the restaurant, the Bar or the Cocktail Bar. Local, organic vegetables complement the seafood; a perfect match of the sea meeting the land, with a French twist. The Wine Room is stocked with 'great whites'; fish just needs good 'vins'.

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
