The MICHELIN Plate: Good cooking
Very comfortable restaurant
Award-winning restaurant Bridges focuses mainly on fish, with a surprising à la carte and Chef's menu. Chef de Cuisine Raoul Meuwese describes his dishes as "Classic traditional French dishes, but with international influences and a modern twist". A unique feature of Bridges is the Chef’s Table. In the heart of the kitchen, you can take a look behind the scenes with a party up to 6 people and enjoy the magic of the kitchen brigade in the heat of the moment. For private events, Bridges also provides a private dining experience, where you can enjoy an intimate dinner in the comfort of your own private space, with cocktail station, cigar cabinet and a selection of specialty whiskeys. The "main courses" with meat were great but everything else was somehow lacking. The bread with butter and salt was not well thought. Hard bread, difficult to cut, a giant chunk of butter, and salt enough for 10 people were served to us (we were...2 people). The serving was slow and we were waiting too long for each dish. The dining room felt very crowded and far from being cozy. The interior is bland and seriously needs to be reconsidered. If you're looking for an unforgettable experience with exceptional food and service there are a lot better options in Amsterdam. But to be fair the food is really good it's just too pricey and Bridges didn't deliver the experience we expected. Hence the low rating.More

My family and I visited Bridges for the first time last weekend. It had been a long time since we had planned a family dinner and we were really looking forward to it. We were welcomed with a smile and guided to our dinner table...in the restaurant. The view on the canal was lovely and the restaurant was cozy! We decided to go with the full seven course menu and wine pairing. What an absolutely delicious dinner this was! Every dish that was served looked stunning, and the delicate flavours and textures were exceptional. All of the friendly faces in the restaurant were enthusiastic and professional, and made us feel comfortable and special. Sommelier Roos in particular made our evening even better with her stories about the wines that accompanied the courses. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!More

For our stay in the Grand we chose to have dinner at Bridges. We had the 5 course meal and both the quality and the taste of all the courses were exceptional. To go with our food, we chose the tea pairing (wine pairing also...available). This was an excellent choice! This is a great recommendation for anyone who can/does not drink alcohol. The tea enhanced the taste of the meals, providing us with a new experience with each bite. The staff explained each meal well and responded well to our questions. If you have the chance to visit, I highly recommend this location.More

After a busy day, we settled down in the garden where the tables were set for us. A warm welcome by the staff awaited us. The protected garden gave us the opportunity to enjoy dinner on a cool summer evening. Otherwise we would have had...to go indoors. Visited Bridges with two friends. We were welcomed in the garden for drinks (beer in chilled glasses, always a plus!) - if you have the possibility, start (or stay) outside! Dinner was amazing. Lots of local ingredients mad with worth a trip for both us...(locals), but also for tourists visiting. Make sure to ask for help with the wines. We let the sommelier and other staff pick their favourites, and they came back with the most memorable wines. The highlight for us was the Somm Chenin Blanc from Stellenbosch, South Africa. Looking back on the dinner, service was amicable and 'gezellig', the atmosphere high-end but welcoming and the food crisp, fresh and inspiring. Will definitely come back again. With compliments to all staff, in particular Mr Jansen - we had the pleasure to meet the F&B Manager and were thoroughly impressed by his stature, knowledge and hospitality.More
