The food was good. The decor is pretty art deco light fixtures. I think this place is over rated though. The piano music was too loud. The lobster soup was a dramatic presentation with a biscuit on top. The flavor was strong but too salty....More

Wonderful staff and delicious meal. This was our priciest meal in Amsterdam but worth it. The staff was friendly and service was fast. The space is unique and worth a visit.

We originally selected Cafe American because it had wheelchair access; the assistance provided in this regard was efficient and kind. Much to our pleasure, we also discovered that the dining room is beautiful and the food delicious. Our server, Turgay, was knowledgeable and attentive. We...More

When we saw staff running around in a chaotic atmosphere offering people (including ourselves) the wrong plates we were very curious to see how this all would end this evening. Long lead times but very friendly service. Food was not very special though. We had...More

We dtayed at the hotel. We had lunch and breakfast there. Lunch was very expensive with small potions and average foods. Breakfast was better than that. But they have limited buffet as well. Personal was very kind and friendly.

We stopped in because the restaurant looked spectacular from the outside, and the building is gorgeous. All we had was an afternoon prosecco and sparkling water, so cannot vouch for the food. However, the space is so lovely, with its fabulous art deco chandeliers, stained...More

Had lunch in the cafe, fish was overcooked, food not salty enough, no flavor. Creme brule not flavored and not enough caramel crust. Not worth it

Hello. I did not go to High Tea, so don't know about the china. However, regular pottery was used at the dinner, and the food was good.

Wine and dine among the local Amsterdam people, artists and actors. The ambiance in the dazzling Cafe Americain is dynamic and most of all cozy. It has been called Amsterdam's living room by many and that is exactly how it feels. Enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, just a coffee or a pleasant drink. At the Cafe Americain or on the amazing terrace during the summer time, you will always feel comfortable
