Beyond 20 years of occasional visits, excellent as ever. A first class Bistro style restaurant with a thoroughly professional and friendly reception. Early signature dishes have changed, but not the 'feel' of the place. I enjoyed the 'surprise' three course menu with perhaps the finest griddle cooked bream, salmon and roasted vegetables I have tasted. It was a delight to... More

Upscale bistro with big windows, dark polished wood and plenty of space between tables. Feels like an old style elegant restaurant from the 60's. Small menu serving traditional food, specializing in fish, is prepared extremely well. Nice bread basket with whipped butter brought to the table. Oysters for starters were super fresh and sweet. Bouillabaisse had lots of fish and... More

Three of us ate here and we are all worldly travelers. My girlfriend and I ordered two starters for our meal: ceviche and salmon pastrami and we were happy. Both dishes were well prepared and tasty. My husband made the mistake of asking if the ribs were available as he did not see them on the menu. Other Trip Advisor... More

Dear Mrs. Paris2Bristol, Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We are always open to comments from our guests and of course preferable when they are still here so we can make adjustments on the spot. First dinner in Amsterdam and not disappointed. We all had something different for our main course and found the staff to be attentive and engaging. Excellent wine selection and combined with champagne the evening was expensive. However I would return for sure, drink less and savour the food. Loved the art works and spacious restaurant.

After being highly recommended, I was greatly disappointed. The Spinach soup was excellent; the Ribeye, cold & tough; service extremely SLOW. Ordered desert & after 15 minutes, cancelled the desert. My wife's fish dinner was bland. Hopefully, this was a one-time disappointment but, I would not return

We went expecting a fish restaurant and piled in without checking if there were sides of vegetables. Top marks to the restaurant for providing a side of vegetables when asked even though there was none on the menu. I had an ample fish main (though cutting squid with a fish knife is impossible), my husband had an excellent venison steak,... More

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel Banks Mansion and they also made a reservation for us. It took us 10 mins to walk to the restaurant and it was a great foodie experience. They had a good menu choice and we decided on the following dishes: rib eye steak, cod, veal. We were thrilled with our meals when they... More

Recommended this place by our hotel after arriving late on a Friday night. Superb food , cooked to perfection. I had a great Rib Eye with a super Jui. But the star of the show was my sons Deer Steak and my Daughters boyfriends Slow cooked Veal. Not cheap this place but the quality of food and service was outstanding.

One of our first nights on our own in Amsterdam and took our concierge recommendation to visit Sluizer for dinner. Food was delicious, service impeccable and the casual conversation with the manger/owner made our evening. We shared our travel stories and had a very fun evening. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sluizer to anyone visiting Amsterdam.

Beautiful menu worth delicious options. Slightly high end in style and moderately priced. About €120 for 2 with wine I would recommend to those wanting style as well as peace and quiet in a very busy town.
