Dinner at Sazanka was Delicious. The service is perfect, the food fresh and very good quality. We visit this restaurant at least twice a year with the family and everybody is allways thrilled to go there.

We pre booked having found this through TripAdvisor and were blow away by it. It's not the cheapest place to eat but it's arguably one of the best in Amsterdam. If you want something cheap and cheerfully is not the place for you - if you want an exceptionally high standard of cooking and a unique dining experience then it... More

Was a no brainer to try this place with its location in my hotel having always been an avid fan of Teppanyaki during copious trips all over the Far East. Food fine but not outstanding in a way that would raise it above its peers, service from Japanese female servers superb, however there was no good theatre or precision at... More

My wife and I ate at Sazanka in October 2016 and were served by Wolf Beelen. We did not get the young Japanese Chef's name. Both were superb as was the food and ambiance. At the risk of sounding snooty - Bennihanna may be entertaining and fun for the family but it is a far cry from how Teppanyaki is... More

We were lucky and managed to get q table as someone cancelled at the last minute, so make sure to try and book in advance! We had a variety of dishes to share as a group, which was great because you get to taste a bit of everything. The ingredients are super fresh and make a huge difference in the... More

Totally impressed with the show cooking, presentation and the taste of the food. It was even completed with the wine paring offered by the restaurant sommelier. In general this was the final and the most inspiring dinner we had in 9 days spent in Netherlands. I would certainly suggest it to everyone who wants to experience the show cooking and... More

We were a company of four, celebrating my birthday. We've been here several times before, always for a special occasion, and each time as impressed... More

A wonderful experience from stepping in to the restaurant to leaving 3 hours later. We were seated with another couple who were celebrating their life in Amsterdam for the last 8 years and we're moving home to South Africa, we had such a laugh with them Our waiter, sommelier and chef were perfect, all of them so knowledgable. Very helpful... More

The Teppanyaki Restaurant Sazanka at the Okura hotel is a wonderful place, good service, the chef knows what he is doing and makes a sophisticated show of it, real artist in cooking. Sazanka is also the only Japanese Michelin rated restaurant in Europe and that proves it really. For the vegetarians among us they have a special VEGETARIAN MENU which... More

Description
The Teppan-chefs will prepare the most delicious fish, meat and vegetarian dishes on a hot iron griddle at your table: a la minute cooking with Japanese precision. The contemporary Japanese interior, inspired by the elements of stone, wood, water and fire, is an oasis of tranquillity. The teppanyaki griddles are large enough for seven to ten guests and are ideal for both business and celebratory dinners. Sazanka is open for dinner from 18:30 to 22:00 daily. Lunch can be prepared for a minimum group size of 10 people and must be booked in advance.

Staying in De Pijp

Neighborhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
