Not really quite sure about all the negative feedback on this place. There are so many food places in this area and after umming and ahhing we just decided to go into this place as it looked nice in the evening from the outside. We were warmly welcomed and asked to take a seat before shortly being asked what drinks... More

This place is SO bad! We came here as a group on our last night in Amsterdam and I'm so gutted we didn't pick somewhere better. We were refused tap water, the wine was disgusting and the cocktails tased like 0% alcohol and 100% sugar. How hard can it possibly be to get a mojito right?! They also completely screwed... More

Went here Saturday night for dinner with my partner. We where in a rush so only had time for a main meal each much to my disappointment as the desserts and coffees people where having around us looked lovely. I had a burger and chips and can honestly say it was gorgeous! Tasted like it had been bbq and the... More

The wait staff was all friendly but the food was awful. Ribeye steak was extremely dry and tough. Pork chop was also very chewy. Chicken in the Caesar salad was "charred" to the point of being burnt. An expensive disappointment with a lot of food left on our plates which should tell the manager and kitchen staff something. We went... More

It was almost 11pm on a Thursday night, our last night before we flew back home and we walked around looking for a place to eat. Rain is located right at Rembrandtplein and despite everyone else closing the kitchen, they welcomed us inside (it was really cold). We were starving and placed the order right away, service was fast and... More

This restaurant is very close to the Hotel Schiller and was a very good place to eat. It directly overlooks Rembrandt's Plein. We ate here one evening and found it quite pleasant . Well worth a visit.

We had been staying in Amsterdam for 4 days and went to this grill on our last night. It was awful right from the beginning. We ordered drinks, 2 cocktails and 2 jack Daniels and Coke. The cocktails were so sweet and tasted like syrup. We also ordered 3 mixed grills and 1 salmon. We waited 45 minutes and no... More

Came to Rain on a whim after where we were planning to go was fully booked. Service was ok, the waiter was a bit cold and sarcastic at times. The food was food and portions large. We all had burgers, which were fully customisable with extra toppings for a few euros each. The toilets were quite dirty and needed a... More

We ate here several nights because it was part of the hotel. Very good dinner, the breakfast comes with the room and was eh..., and a great place to people watch. Located right on Rembrandt Square, ask for a table on the sidewalk. The food is very good. Our group had salmon, tenderloin, ribeye, and the "American Stew". All were... More

Rain bar, restaurant and club in Amsterdam’s most active café-and-nightlife neighborhood has been hot, hot, hot ever since it opened in 2005. Everything about it gets rave reviews: the menu, the bar, the club, the restaurant and the terrace, oh, and the genuine friendliness of the staff. Décor is tastefully modern with dark wood, leather seating, lilac and violet touches. The ground floor bar and Comfortable Dining Area morph into a club around eleven or so (weekend closing is 4am). The upstairs dining room is also tastefully modern. The truly inventive food is global fusion, like starter of pressing of wild duck and seasonal mushrooms with winter plum and chilli compote, crisp duck salad, foie gras lollipop and balsamic syrup, seemingly-simple main of burger becomes a Wagyu burger (birth certificate available on request) on hazelnut brioche with onion confit, sautéed foie gras, fried duck egg, hand cut chips and home made ketchup. Everything is made fresh here, from the bread to the famous ice creams. Up to 250 can take over the venue. There are three daily changing menus, 4- and 6-course tasting menus and an 8-course gourmet menu. Rain’s philosophy includes delight, refreshment and inspiration, and the hip, affluent crowd who gathers here seems to agree.
