I love the atmosphere in this place and the diverse menu they have (all vegetarian/vegan). If you have friends that do (or think) not like vegetarian/ vegan food this is a great place to show the possibilities there are. Price is good.

Lovely cafe in an easy to find location in Amsterdam. Really pleased we went there during our three day stay in Amsterdam. Food was yummy and fresh and choices were quite good too.

Food with great flavour and texture. I has the vegan options of the soup and dish of the day then shared the avocado and lime and the courgette brownie. All of these where vegan and amazing. I would defiantly suggest to anyone whether vegan or not.

We are vegetarian. This place was very close the place where we were staying. We had our late lunch at this place. We enjoyed our meal. Thanks.

This place feels a bit like one of those nice authentic vegetarian bohemic spots prior to all social media.. It's not your typical Instagram hangout. What a relief! There are both vegetarian and vegan options. The place feels really nice and peaceful even when it's full. I really like their vegetarian quiche. The menu sais it's a small dish but... More

Tasty food. Craving freshly prepared vegetables with lots of flavor we happened on this place. Small, unpretentious, friendly. Vegan dish of the day was a surprising variety of things, all well executed. We love a good steak and chips, but this was most welcome. Not cheap, mind you; but worth it.

Nice charming place, with relaxing atmosphere. Food is good, prices reasonable. Near Anne Frank house museum. Service is very slow, but if you are not in the hurry, no problem.

Had a lovely lunch here, limited menu but plenty of tasty vegetarian options on menu, I had the quiche and salad which I thoroughly enjoyed, it tasted excellent with lots of veggies but a little heavy, and I did think that it was rather expensive at €14 for lunch, bottled water on menu also quite expensive but they will serve... Couldn't get into my two go to restaurants, De Belhamel or Bordewijk, so took a walk around and stumbled across this place. The Bolhoed 3 course special started with of a perfectly flavored and just right temperature tomato based soup with carrots and lentils. The second course was a variety of vegetables and a bit of tofu. Lentils, and a... More

We are neither vegans or vegetarians but like to eat healthy, delicious food. De Bolhead delivered this in spades. The service was slow. Reasonably pricey but good size main meals. It is a simple restaurant, part ageing hippy decor and then with a few quirky furnishings such as a chandelier made from cupie doll heads and arms. The location is... More

Staying in Jordaan

Neighborhood Profile
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
