Just came across this restaurant by chance as we were walking in a quiet leafy part of Amsterdam within the canal belt. As it looked so inviting we stopped for a spot of lunch. We were fortunate to get a table outside right by the canal as well The food is of a high standard and the staff friendly and... More

Visited a couple of times whilst in Amsterdam. First time we were just passing and went on spec. Managed to get a table but it was very full. Next time I booked. They have tables outside by the canal edge but I preferred indoors as there was a possibility of rain. Inside seems very small but they have an upstairs... More

Lots of lovely dishes to choose from, excellent unhurried service in a very pleasant environment at an outside table by the canal. However we were extremely fortunate to get a table as a group was just leaving as we arrived. It would be advisable to book.

Having enjoyed several perfectly good but 'routine' tapas, pizza and cafe meals while visiting Amsterdam we wanted something a bit more special. De Belhamel hit the spot!! Lovely setting in relatively quiet spot. Decor and ambience tasteful and comfortable. Welcome and service unpretentious but classy. Waitress very competent and knowledgeable. Food was excellent and good value. Definitely a place to... More

My husband was at a business event so I decided to take myself out to a nice dinner. I spent time reviewing tripadvisor and decided that de Belhamel was my best choice. I was not let down. The restaurant is situated on a street facing a canal. They have some seats directly on the canal across the street from the... More

This restaurant serves a French and Italian inspiration cuisine. The plates are nice and very good. The service is excellent and you can eat in front of the canal

Made a booking here via Seatme at 17.14 for dinner at 20.00, however when we arrived at 19.30, no sign of our reservation, but a table was found, somehow. Word of warning the space inside is very TIGHT, but there are some tables outside the front door and on the canals edge. Very good meal and excellent service, and well... More

A must when in Amsterdam. Lovely atmosphere, friendly service and amazing food. Not very big so book in advance. Overlooking the canal. Pricey but definitely worth it.

We had an excellent dinner here recently. We sat outside overlooking the busy junction of 2 canals. The food was outstanding, as was the presentation. Service was very good. The restaurant is quite small, so reservations are a must. The only slight downside is that it is fairly expensive.....but worth it.

This is one of the restraints i regularly take out of town business colleges. It never fails to impress. Great foot and great service, but book in advance its nearly always full. In the summer its possible to eat outside on the canal side

Restaurant De Belhamel is located at the junction of two of Amsterdam’s most beautiful canals, the Brouwersgracht (“Brewers’ canal”) and the Herengracht (“Gentlemen’s canal”). It is one of the city’s prettiest spots, quietly situated at the edge of the Jordaan area and offering splendid views on both canals. In summer lunch and dinner are served outside in these lovely surroundings. Not only the location, also the restaurant’s interior is unique: the venue is entirely decorated in the early 20th century Art-Nouveau style, with many original details. The restaurant and entresol give a view over the canals, the bar offers a fine opportunity to enjoy an aperitif before dinner. From 2007 onwards Michelin has rewarded De Belhamel with a ‘Bib Gourmand’.We are looking forward to welcoming you at De Belhamel.
