We organised a business dinner here for 25 people from different countries. Because of being a group we selected one of the fixed dinners. Having eaten here a couple of years ago i hoped for the same haute-cuisine Dutch style that I experienced before. Although the whole entourage made everything perfect for our international guestst we found the quality of... More

Very nice restaurant with Dutch cuisine in a 17th century building. The interior is decorated like a museum. On the walls you can see the swords, halberds, armor. The waiter told in detail about each dish. The menu has traditional Dutch oude and jonge Jenever (Dutch gin) which is worth trying.

I recently co-lead a trip to Amsterdam with college students, and after 3 weeks in the city we celebrated our last night at this restaurant. We were a group of 21 (+ two parents, somewhat unexpectedly) and we were given an entire little room in this restaurant, which is a series of connected old canal homes. I found it to... More

Each room is unique in this well preserved old house- including collections of swords and standing suit of armor in our dining area. Old chairs with brass plaques to recognize patrons over the years who helped to support the restaurant's survival and growth. Delft tiled tables, heavy tiled floors... And the food is wonderful and staff friendly! A real "find!"

Dear appreciated Five Flies guest, Thank you for your your kind words and thank you for sharing on Tripadvisor. Overall ambience is really good. What i can recollect is the restaurant is made after combining ground floors of 4 different houses and hence a zig zag pattern. Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away.
