we always get falafel here whenever we are in Amsterdam and they have never failed to be great. It is very simple fast food but always good with generous portions and good prices

Egyptian owner/cook was very rude. food was good. They did not accept credit cards. I wouldn't really go there again. Don't even have tissues to wipe hands. Try another place around there. Not worth going

I visited this restaurant twice during my stay at Amsterdam this time, and found that the food was great. The staff (primarily Egyptian) are quite friendly and chatty. The other good thing was that the food was Halal, which is really nice. The serving is also quite decent. It has quite a decent seating, and you can always do a... More

Tried the shwarma. Not worth it. Grouchy staff with lousy attitude and service. Not very clean either. Avoid this place.

We went there with my friend to eat quickly, following advice from Tripadvisor. First, the street is very touristical. If you are looking for an authentical Amsterdam street, change your destination! No Netherlanders here, only tourists. Arrived at the place, it is a small place smelling grilled oil and barely place to seat. The service was awful. It seemed the guy... More

It was very expensive and the guy was very unpleasant. A lot of better restaurants in the same street.

Medium quality kebab food largely overpriced (and over rated on this website). Service is just horrible, the manager is half aggressive half douchy. No toilets. There is way better places to eat. Forget this one

Lamb sharoma for EUR 7,5 each. The guy at the restaurant suggested adding Tzatziki sauce, it was so tasty and satisfying, I was so happy, I could die and be very satisfied, the best of only a few places tasted, but the others tried didn't offer only lamb. One of my best taste experiences in Amsterdam and highly recommended to... More

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
