Partner and I went here on a cold and wet evening, and the welcome we received cheered us up. We had the vegetarian rice table option consisting of starter plus six mains and rice. Expecting small tasting menu portions we were surprised by the very...More

We arrived 30 minutes early for our reservation but that was no issue. It was our first time here, we went with the rice bowl menu 1, nice choice of foods and tasted very fresh, friendly staff and reasonably quick service. It’s not in the...More

We had enjoyed a rijsttafel meal on our first visit to Amsterdam a number of years ago and knew we would like to repeat the experience this time. Based on information on Facebook, I chose JUN due to good reviews and it's proximity to our...More

I really enjoyed the food here and the staff were really friendly. However I think it’s a bit silly policy to force every costumer to order main dish. Sometimes you might just want to order an appetizer and side dish(es). I think they need to...More

We were pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem that offers authentic Indonesian flavours. Must try: rice table #2 Staff friendly and helpful. Only downside: pricey for Indonesian food, but in line with other restaurants in town.

First time eating Indonesian food. We ordered the rijsttafel and every dish was delicious. All the food was clearly described to us. Charming small restaurant. The owner made sure we were happy (we were) and our waiter (partner of the owner) was friendly and helpful....More

The restaurant is small and cozy. We booked on the same day but it was not crowded. The service (the owner and the waiter) were lovely, smiley and attentive. We ordered the recommended rice table (the bigger one) and were very happy and satisfied with...More

If it weren't for the fact that there are so many restaurants to choose from, we'd definitely go back and surely if we'd live in Amsterdam. The food was was really good and tasty to just simply state it in that way. The service was...More

We thought we'd try this restaurant after a local recommendation. The food was excellent, with large portions and a good variety of dishes. The service was also great - both the owners were there and they were both extremely friendly (one even gave us a...More

The food is spicy, but you can ask milder items. They adapt it for sure.

Description
Restaurant Jun Indonesian Cuisine is a modern restaurant on the edge of the Amsterdam city centre and near the Jordaan area. Together with my team I prepare authentic Indonesian dishes and new dishes inspired by the Indonesian cuisine. On our menu, that we change every three months, are always some 'classics' such as soto ayam (the famous Indonesian chicken soup) and rendang (beef tenderloin in a Sumatran curry), but we also offer real Indonesian dishes that you don't find on the menu everywhere else. We have an interesting wine card with delicious wines that go very well with the dishes we serve.
