Great home made ice cream, location is also great - right off the Nieuwmarkt near the Red Light District. You can also enjoy a coffe or tea. Open untill late!

As a weekend routine, we always do coffee and ice cream as dessert. And now with a new interior, the coffee is one of the best in town. And the ice cream, sometimes I take two scoops ;-)

Great location to relax and enjoy a real espresso and gelato. Great spot for people watching, easy walk fro Centraal Station. Steps away from GREEN PLACE for those post indulgence muchies.

It's one my top ice-cream parlours in the city. Don't let the old fashioned interior keep you away from this real Italian gelato. Pistachio and hazelnut are my favourites. Just authentic and real gelato!

We've been to this place and were not impressed at all. First of all, the maintenance of the place could be much better (minimum, the tiles need repair), second - neither coffee, not ice cream was impressive. Just a very plain place in a very good central location with the prices appropriate for the location, not for the place.

My friend and I were looking for some coffee and a place to soak in the sun, it's in a great location to people watch and can be quite busy on weekends, but the cafe latte hit the spot, and the staff were all very pleasant/had a sense of humour. Highly suggest if you just want to sit and slow... More

Came in here to get a panini one day and was really disappointed. I ordered a basic ham, cheese and tomato panini even though it wasn't on the menu. The waitress said it was fine and asked if I'd like salad in the panini. I said no. The basic panini cost €7.50. All the other paninis are around 5 euros.... More

We stumbled upon this place and noticed it was well patronised and after looking at the menu decided to give this place a try. It was cold outside but inside was warm and welcoming. The staff too made us feel welcome with explanations for every question we had about the food available. After we chose and our meal was delivered... More

amsterdam is full of ice cream places now. This was one of the first. Located just on the edge of the red light. This place is great for a scoop of ice cream after dinner or a coffee during the day. Good terrace. The shop is closed in winter.

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
