This is the perfect place for lunch after a visit to one of the musea nearby. Elegant, spacious, simple but good food, service is good and more locals than tourists.

I have eaten here a few times. Clearly popular with locals, it offers good food (excellent quiche) and is calm and tranquil compared to most Amsterdam cafes.

First I tried scones and tea here before listening to Bashmet few years ago but after that keep coming back just for few pieceful hours. Sometimes waiters ask me if I don't mind sharing table with other guest. Sometimes it's even interesting ;)

I don't know the answer as we just stumbled across the venue at lunch time. The advice from the Dutch guy sounds good. The staff, as most Dutch people do speak excellent English. Hope you have a wonderful 70th celebration!
