Nice place to have a breakfast if you do not wish to take the hotel buffet breakfast. A nice assortment coupled with good, service makes me want to come back the next time Will be staying in the Museum Plein area. . . Also went for dinner just before the evening concert. To be noted that seats are very much... More

There was a limited choice on the breakfast menu however food served was excellent and staff very efficient. If you like bread go the full breakfast which is served on a tower for you to self-serve.

We stopped in en route to museum-hopping, and loved having our lattes, scone, and croissant in this airy, high-ceilinged cafe in this historic building. The scone came in the English style with jam ("marmalade") and clotted cream, and the croissant was perfectly flaky. It was an excellent way to start the day.

Light and airy cafe attached to Concertgebouw Concert Hall. Caring servers and good light food. Not to forget a great concert hall and world famous orchestra.

The cafe is adjacent to the concert hall, convenient to the museumplein, modestly priced, casual and reliable.

A very pleasant café for a range of light snacks. I went there for breakfast one morning, it was peaceful and relaxing with attentive staff to take the order. I chose the set breakfast that included, croissant, ham, cheese, breads, orange juice and coffee for 12 euros. Excellent value and very tasty. Highly recommended.

Just scouting the area out: had tickets for a concert there that evening, I ended up having breakfast coffee and a pastry there on a Saturday morning. Actually I was the first customer of the morning (it opened at 9 am !) so the pick of fresh pastries was great, the coffee up to Dutch standards and the smiling waitress... More

Despite being located at the entrance of the concert hall, the prices were same or lower than other cafès in the city. Everything was done with care, the packaging and presentation of every dish looks good, the panino was fantastic and so did the cakes and the scones. Staff was friendly, place got packed around 13:30 but before that it... More

We had lunch at this restaurant. The location is perfect: within the Concertgabau, so perfect either for before or after a concert. The sandwiches/panini etc we had were accompanied by lots of fresh salad. The room is south-facing, so it catches whatever sun there is; all in all a perfect place.

Went for a late lunch in the atrium cafe. Had a shrimp salad and a goats cheese one - large and very good value. Furniture a bit tired but OK. Used by local professionals more than tourists.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
