This little café is great! Friendly service and really good sandwiches and pastry which are mostly homemade and delicious. The food is inexpensive and the value for money is excellent. It also has free wifi.

Lovely place for lunch, lovely sandwiches, wraps, deserts, chocolates etc. Very friendly couple running the place. Not a lot of seating but got lovely seats at window, perfect for people watching and tram right outside the door.

Nice dutch butter-cake (boterkoek) with good coffee. Very nice lady's that gave me all kinds of information about the city. There is great variety of delicatessen in jars you can by as a present or souvenir.

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighborhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
