We stopped by spontaneously for some bites and cocktails. Attentive waiting staff and imaginative cocktails as well as delicious lunch menu. For the price the bites could be a bit more creative. Soft shell crab was served by itself with no sauce etc

Lovely bar area at the Dylan hotel with fine dining quality food A little on the expensive side but everything was super tasty and beautifully presented and the service was great throughout. Steak tartare starter was a very large portion and super delicious as was...the cod starter and leeks. For mains two had steaks which were cooked perfectly to their tastes. Sea bass was gorgeous and nicely adapted for dietary requirements. The chips were so crunchy and delicious. And lovely vegan pineapple dessert to finish off a great night!More

Went with 2 friends for dinner at Brasserie Occo. The food was amazing, it all tasted delicious! We had the burrata and steak tartare as a starter to share, chicken as a main which was very well prepared and ice cream as a dessert. All...the food was very good! Also we tried some cocktails which were very well made and also tasted amazing! For sure a place where I would love to come back to!More

I want to give it a 3.5. Some elements great and others okay. We went for brunch. The team at the front desk were very friendly and helpful (taking raincoats and showing us to the restaurant). There is a breakfast buffet (€32) that looked quite...tasty. We ordered off the menu. A few things sounded good (coconut porridge and overnight oats). I went with two eggs scrambled, wheat toast, and crispy bacon. The eggs were quite delicious. Creamy and rich. The bacon was crispy and a nice portion! Husband went with the eggs Benedictine. Good but not great. Hollandaise was okay and the portion was smaller than expected. Service was good. Friendly and helpful. I would like to try this bar for drinks one night.More

It all started off well - blue skies over classic Dutch winter scenes - a perfect start to a few days away after Christmas / pre New Years. Walking through the gateway and into the beautiful courtyard of the Dylan signalled the prospect of a...wonderful Amsterdam experience.... However, even when the front door was opened, seemingly as if by magic, the temperature and the expectations dropped. The young doorman, instead of welcoming us in, questioned us fiercely before we were allowed to cross the threshold, despite us being both well dressed and well behaved, and with a reservation. We were escorted to a table for 3 which was, admittedly swiftly changed (our reservation was for 5). And there we sat, and sat and sat.....No menu. No wine list. No water. No service. The room had 3 other tables occupied, and was staffed by 2 then 3, then eventually 5 staff. It still took 3 requests over the course of 20 minutes to receive the bottle of wine we had ordered. By the time our 2 guests arrived, we had 3 menus between us all plus one bar menu. We poured our own water for the entirety of the meal and most of the wine ourselves. The body language between the staff was telling - they were not working as a team. The young men were smiley and willing enough, but their ‘manager’, a sour un-smiling young lady, was clearly out of her depth, lacking in both management training and customer service. The food however was excellent. Every course was plated with taste and style - all dishes delicious and well balanced. Praises should go to the hard working kitchen team - they deserve a far better calibre of service staff than we experienced that day. The managers and owners of the Dylan should take note: This is the hospitality industry after all - your staff (lets hope and pray it was a ‘one off’) let you, your chefs, your beautiful decor and fabulous building down in an inexcusable way. The following day showed us the other side of Amsterdam’s hospitality ‘coin’. The Ambassade Hotel was filled with smiling happy welcoming and generously-spirited staff no matter who was on duty, no matter in which department. Whether at breakfast, in the bar, at the reception desk or in the restaurant - all staff smiled and wanted their guests to have a lovely time and to give good service - and seem genuinely proud to do so - something that the OCCO staff in the Dylan Hotel showed us not to be the case.More

Occo is the pleasant bar in the Dylan hotel of West Amsterdam. High beamed ceilings, panoramic windows onto the hotel's pretty courtyard and stylish furniture makes it a handsome room. The drinks are reasonable and well-prepared and the "bar food" first-class.

We had a continental breakfast here each morning of our stay as part of our tariff at The Dylan. It was just what we needed with excellent breads and a selection of other typical continental Europe offerings as well as decent expresso and teas. My...wife and I also had light meals here on two occasions and loved the Iberico Ham, the Beef Tartare and the Tahini. Wines by the glass were reasonably priced and the service was uniformly excellent. We did not have dinner here but the menu offered a good range of options.More

This restaurant is in the Dylan Hotel, a very upscale property. You can eat in the courtyard, which is quiet and away from the street, or in one of the two restaurants. OCCO features a Michelin Star, and the atmosphere is casual elegance. Service is...wonderful, and the food is superb. It is not inexpensive, but I would say it is fairly priced.More

I found the High Wine on a list of "To Do's" while in Amsterdam and made a reservation weeks in advance. When we arrived we were greeted and brought to, not a table, but a couch seating area in the lobby/lounge. This was unexpectedly casual,...but turned out to be completely lovely, in addition to being a convenient spot to see the cocktails brought out to other patrons. Admittedly, the room is covered in warm woodwork and a stunning fireplace (images attached), so it certainly wasn't a downgrade by any means. The tasting menu was delicious, the service was friendly and accommodating to English only speakers. The dishes were genuinely beautiful with an authentic Dutch cuisine twist. The first little taste include seasoned nuts& raisins with a can of anchovy stuffed olives, which btw we thought we would hate...and didn't. The rest of the dishes were downright stunning. The pairings were beautiful and our server was fun to talk with. Admittedly the service was slow. So much so that we were given a coffee at the end for the extra wait times, but honestly, when we're traveling we try not to rush anything and we're fine to move at the pace of wherever we are, so we didn't mind and just have that much longer to sit and talk. The Dylan is beautiful and elegant, but not at all stuffy or prim. The menu is somewhat pricey, not extravagant, but on the higher end of a very nice meal. As an example, we didn't add cocktails to our meal as we already had a set menu and cocktails run $15-18 each. This can be steep for a place with so many local pubs, but they put in the effort to elevate the food and drinks for a consummate experience.More
