Near a canal with a small terrace you can spend some nice time at a tea or a coffee. Nothing special.

We went here based on some of the reviews. Service was horrible. We had to ask to be helped (only 2 people in there AND sat at the bar). Very rude, food was terrible and our credit card was charged twice for 2 different amounts. Now have to contact bank to file fraud charge.

Hidden out of the way, it isn't quite well known judging by the crowds. Outdoor area was lovely, though also pretty crowded when I was there. Steak was great.

Go if you like a chilled out time, hanging out at the bar or having pub food. Avoid if you hate cramped spaces and wait staff that's chatting with the regulars.

This place is not in a very touristy and actually well seen/main street places. It is off of the beaten path and I love it for that. I got along and befriended people working there. They are very friendly. FOOD IS DELICIOUS! We had many foods there as we re-visited, since my daughter loved the place. The ribs are DIVINE!... More

Dropped in on a cloudy day for snack and a beer for lunch. Food and service was ok. The place is old and has charm but we didn't really feel it.

This place is just awesome, could be one of the small cafe/restaurant/bars in Amsterdam, but the quality and service is extremely impressive. Had an amazing three course meal of baked Camembert (starter), Steak & Chips, plus salad & Cheesecake for desert for €14.95. Service was excellent and so was the food. There's also a tourist photographic opportunity outside on the... More

Went there for a dinner with a friend as it was recommended by our tour guide. It was almost empty at the time but decided to give a try. Staff was not very engaging and welcoming. Ordered burgers and sides and to be honest one of the best burgers i have ever tried so good job chef! Big portions that... More

We enjoyed this place so much we came here several times. The food was delicious and filling. We tried the three course meal for about 14 euro and another time we tried the burger. The beer was also good. The service is friendly and pretty quick for how busy it was each time we went. We'll certainly visit again the... More

Great beer and food, the staff is polite and helpful. During our stay we came here few times . They also have excellent prices of a three course menu but often it can be really full in the evening and difficult to find a table.

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
