A favourite in Amsterdam. Interesting tasting menu without being weird or pretentious. Good value. Great service, a proper family run place. Chef came out for a chat, nice to see someone living their lifes dream.

We also visited Amsterdam for a birthday weekend. We came across this restaurant whilst wandering about in the Jordaan area and decided to give it a go. They have a fixed menu and you can chose either three, four or five courses. Each course is accompanied by a specific beer and we found this concept unusual and exciting. As well... More

Visiting Amsterdam for a birthday weekend. Came across this little restaurant by luck as we were out for a walk. The 3 course meal we had (5 if you include the complementary gazpacho and crème brûlée) was cook perfectly and fresh. The different beers with each meal is a great touch. Very enjoyable meal would 100% recommend.

We really enjoyed having diner this restaurant in our home town. The location is just perfect: in the middle of the Jordaan. On the walls of the restaurant you will find many great pictures of the old days, when Amsterdam was still a rough diamond. The owners take such good care of the guests. Diner starts with an amuse and... More

A craft beer restaurant with very good food! The waitress was very helpful and knew her stuff. I liked the fact that all of the beers was dutch craft beer. Made the experience more authentic. Very recommendable!

Klein maar fijn! Special dinner with friends. We were lucky enough to sit outside in the warm summer evening. Chatted the night away wtih 5 delicious courses. Started with a cute amuse buche of mushroom, goats cheese and parsley creme with pea shoots, then the first starter of subtle flavoured and silky smooth home-smoked salmon with creamy potato salad and... This little restaurant is tucked away in a side street near the Anne Frank House. We got their for two reasons, firstly I had worked out a walking route to take in Anne Frank's House and a dinner restaurant. Secondly it was recommended by our travel organiser. As it worked out, the Anne Frank House had queues that would have... More

Delicious wholesome fresh organic locally produced food, matched with local boutique beers & wines. What more could you ask for. All served up with friendly down to earth service. Would definitely recommend. Give yourself plenty of time, as the 3, 4, or 5 course menu, plus 2 amuse bouche is a very leisurely meal.

A small restaurant in the Jordaan district - lovely quaint room. The food was beyond delicious and used locally sourced ingredients. We did not partake of the beer pairings, but ordered from their small but well chosen wine list. One of the best meals we had in Amsterdam. One small caveat - there were only two servers and one cook... More

We found this restaurant by accident whilst walking around the canal system. Its set back from the main road and tourist areas, just about 50m in its own quiet and tranquil street. The food and drink were all local. The drink particularly was various Dutch beers and the menu had options on the number of courses and an appropriate local... More

Staying in Jordaan

Neighborhood Profile
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
