The De Aardige Pers was just around the corner from our AirBnb. Because we love Persian food, we had dinner there one of our first nights in Amsterdam. The food was so good, that we went back for dinner a few nights later. The chicken...dishes are especially good.More

Cosy and small Iranian restaurant in Amsterdam. Recommend making a reservation. There is so many chooses on the menu. Portion sizes were good. Delicious kababs and rice. Lovely staff.

The food was mediocre and the service was terrible. We made a reservation by email but when we arrived they had no record of it. After showing the email confirmation they resistantly gave us a table. The grilled meats were pleasant enough but lacked any...seasoning. We ordered three dips with bread to start and liked two more than one, which we left. The waiter then argumentatively questioned why we had not eaten it which was uncomfortable.More

We had high expectations about this restaurant - especially because it was recommended by a friend from Iran. However the service quality did not meet our expectations. Some of our requests were completely forgotten. Since the service was extremely slow; I went to bar to...ask for wine and get some information. However the waitress practically forced me to go back to the table (?!) and she didn’t really help. The house wine that they serve is terrible - so stay away. And they didn’t tell me which wine that was. Anyway the food is okay but it is not really that much different than you can find in an Lebanese or Turkish restaurant and I would say compared to them, it was below average. In Amsterdam you can find much better restaurants with similar cuisine and much better service.More

I visited this place for dinner, and luckily got seated as walk-in although several others after us without reservations got rejected. The food quality was great, starter was very nice and doogh was on point. Very good Persian food and definitely worth a visit! The...only downside was that the waitresses seemed a bit shorthanded, and not able to serve in a timely manner or forgot the requests a few times (even though it was just two of us). At peak time, they might need to add another waiter to help out.More

i am going to this restaurant for two years in my trips to amsterdam.the quality of foods are excellent.the price you pay for persian food is very good comparing to other cuisine in amsterdam.if you order a cheloo kabaab barg,it costs just 16 euros !!...what cuisine can compare this delicious persian food in taste and price in amsterdam.?you should pay for a burger about 10 euros.before starting your ordered main course, you are being served with noon o paniroo gerdoo va sabzi.is not this awesome?staff are very kind and helpful.you should have a reservation for a table but i was accepted without reservation because of their kindness.More

The food was perfect! We love it so much I actually decided to go tomorrow again! Too bad we only discovered it now as we’re traveling back home the day after tomorrow. Whenever I’m in Amsterdam I’ll visit again!

Dec 21 is Shabe Yalda, the beginning of Winter, and a big celebration for Iranians. My friend and I went to De Aardige Pers, better known to the Persian community in Amsterdam as Saman on this evening. We got the last two seats. The place...was packed with Iranian families. We were greeted by Sina, the son of the owner, Sam, who joined us after dinner for conversation...it turned out we had a lot of common experiences in Abadan, when I worked for NIOC. Since it was around 9pm when we arrived, I thought a chelo kebab would be too heavy. They have very good carbonated dugh and masto musir and home made bread, along with a bowl of fresh sabzi, panir and gerdu. I love the tarragon. The menu is very extensive with a lot of things that you only find in Iranian homes. My friend is just learning about Persian cooking and had never had shirin polo I suggested she try it, with chicken. I had the baghali polo mahiche. Both were excellent with very large portions. We didn't think we had room for dessert until they said they have home-made pistachio ice cream. It was wonderful, with the rosewater flavor and stretchy like the kind they make in Iran. We went back two nights later, earlier, so I had the chelo kebab soltani, which was excellent. The barg was maybe not as good as the best in Tehran, but the kubide was. Certainly, both are among the best I have had outside of Iran. My friend had the baghali polo with chicken...she loved it. Portions are very large...I had to help her...and I was full from the chelo kebab. BUT, we did have room for the ice cream again. Wow. We were leaving Amsterdam the following day and my friend realized she had left her back pack on the floor next to her chair. We called the restaurant from my Iranian relatives' house in Wiesbaden when we got there. Sina took it to the local post office and mailed it this morning. How is that for kind service? This restaurant rates high on all counts!!!More
