Stopped here on a Monday Lunch. First visit to Amsterdam with Dutch friends. Restaurant was full but only had to wait 10 minutes for a table to clear. Staff were very efficient and friendly, nothing too much trouble. Four of us eat a main course...with 3 drinks each for just over 100 euros, which for the location on Damm square was pretty good value. I had the 6 oz speciality burger medium, with fries and salad. Very moist and juicy. Great people watching, altogether a very enjoyable 2 hours.More
Really lovely Cafe with great service. We were a large group on our way to our hotel still with our luggage when we stopped here for brunch. The waiter was super friendly and the service was excellent, so quick. They made us feel so welcome...and accommodated our large group and luggage no problem. The food was really good as were the mimosas and coffee. The Dutch Apple pie was amazing! Great spot right by Dam Square. We loved it! Thank you for looking after us.
The only negative I would say is the 30c charge for the toilet. I understand because of your location you don’t want people to come in off the street but paying customers should not have to pay to use your facilities.More
If you visit the nieuw kerk in Amsterdam ( across the Dam) Try the nieuwe Kafe. The nieuwe kerk has many nice expositions and is a nice old church to visit. In front of the church is this cafe. We tried the flammkuchen and house...special with three different sandwiches. A fresh orange juice and coffee It was a nice lunch. I would not go out of my way to visit it but once you are nearby it is worth going to.More
Popped in for a late lunch, was served straight away, food good and plentiful, ham omelette and lovely hand cut chips . Price wise for the center of Amsterdam it was reasonable. Cosy atmosphere. I have seen comments that the toilets having to be paid...for, 30cents, I think the reason being people who are not eating pop in to use them. Waitress very helpful and polite.More
After a visit to the Suriname exhibition in the Nieuwe Kerk we went into the adjacent coffee shop for a cup of coffee and cake. The place was crowded, we were lucky to find a table just available! We expected service to take some time...but the staff is very efficient! The order was taken immediately, in no time the coffee and cake came, and the bill came immediately when asked for it. Added to the excellent quality, this place is surprisingly good!More
