I have never seen a waiter that rude and I'm a very easy going person, always very positive and optimistic, so if I say that you can believe me! I went there with two friends and we ordered an apple pie and 2 cappuccinos and...THE WAITER KICKED US OUT because my third friend did not want to order a drink ! TERRIBLE SERVICE, VERY RUDE !More

My wife and I stopped in to warm up with a cappuccino (wife added baileys to hers) and we shared a slice of apple pie. The pie was fantastic, thin slices of apple and great crust, it was just what we needed to get back...out in the chilly wet December weather. The place is tiny and every seat was taken but the two at the bar we were able to nab. Definitely worth the walk.More

Dropped in here early evening attracted by the glittering Christmas lights and golden glow of this ancient little bar overlooking one of the prettiest canals in Amsterdam. The glow was repeated inside too. Sat in the warm snug having a couple of beers and enjoying...the friendly buzz around us. Staff very pleasant, beer good, stove warm, not much more to say, except that we'd go back if we could.More

Founded as early as 1642, if you’re feeling a little peckish and want to sample a local speciality alongside your beer, be sure to sample a slice of one of their citywide-famous apple pies! Excelent, it worth every peny

Visited this wonderful old atmospheric pub last week whilst in Amsterdam with a friend. A really warm welcome at the bar. The bar man was a perfect host finding seats for us and being really attentive. We returned every night of our four day stay....The pea and Ham soup was delicious. We will returnMore

We just happened across this place during a bit of a downpour and were very greatfull for the warm, cosy atmosphere of this quirky pub. The staff were friendly something I don’t understand from any of these negative reviews, and the food was simple but...tasty, especially the beautiful Dutch apple pie. Worth a visit if nearby for a more traditional and different experience.More

Readers can read all about the great stuff this pub offers and I agree with most of them. However, one just cannot accept the attitude of the people who work there and it is not just about being a customer. The elder gentleman was angry...all the time and younger one was so rude. Most of the people working in the restaurants here were not that friendly but these gentlemen were exceptional! In fact, I stayed on (although I hurried through my meal and left as soon as I could) because of the very friendly local patrons. They were the ones who made feel welcome. Otherwise one would get the wrong impression of the city. Go there to take a look at a nice, quaint pub but do not enter if you do not want your day spoilt.More

The place was dirty and the waiter was very rude. I definitely don’t recommend this place. They don’t respect the customers.
