4 friends had 4 different main courses and they were each fantastic. The rack of lamb got the star rating.

We happened to pass by, saw the tempting menu and we decided to try the wine bar, both for wine and food. In short, the experience was great. The food was fantastic, wine fabulous, service excellent.

We actually planned to eat at the nearby restaurant because it was higher rated at Trip advisor but there wasn't free table. Luckily Wijnbar Boelen & Boelen was very close and they fortunatelly had one free table. Everything was great, staff(owner and waiters) was very nice to us and patient to answer our questions. Wine was great and we ate... More

Really lovely place with great traditional French dishes and a unlimited range of wines. Staff is to die for and the location A1 in 'de Pijp'; safest area of Amsterdam that is owned by students and lovely peoples.

Small winebar with nice atmosphere. Small but nice choice of wines per glass at reasonable prices, nice choice per bottle. Attractive offer of a few starters and main dishes. Quality was OK but nothing to remember. Spontaneous staff. Good price/quality ratio but the concept offers still potential to grow qualitywise.

We have eaten here several times over the last few years and it is always great. There is also consistently good service and a nice atmosphere in the restaurant. The menu changes regularly (I have had monk fish, stews, lamb in the past...) and is limited in size, but there is always something to suit most tastes. AS you enter... More

Fantastic food, great wine selection, super friendly staff and owner, located in trendy Pijp area where you could have a post-dinner drink in the many bars around... and popular with locals, no tourist trap

After my visit in 2014 I avoided this place. Not because of the quality of the wines (they are great), but because of the bad service. Yesterday I tried this wine bar again. This time the service was good. Friendly staff and never had to ask for a refill. They currently have perfect viognier for only €5. Cheers!

We had spotted this nice area earlier for its "vie de quartier" and have arrived quite late on a Sunday evening with hungry stomachs. We were told at a nearby restaurant that the kitchen was close at 9:30pm, therefore we came to Winjbar and a very friendly waitress welcomed us with the good news that the kitchen was still open.... In the hip area called PIJP with all kinds of markets and spots to sit and eat. We sat outside without a reservation (by 7 o'clock, busier after that) and had a delicious and beautifully presented French entree, mine was catfish, my wife's was beef. The wine was very good, and the prices were a good value. Service was attentive,... More

Neighborhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
