We went to this restaurant during Christmas holidays. We went to this restaurant 10 minutes before closing time, yet the owner said we can stay and in fact he was very friendly and made us feel welcome. I don't know if it is customary to...More

The service of the gentleman running front of house was amazing. We visited this restaurant in July 2014 and it was one of my fondest memories of the European trip. Walking in with no expectations, the three of us were blown away. An empty restaurant...More

We had a great lunch here on our last day in Amsterdam. It was better than we expected from outside!

From the outside this restaurant on a busy street leading to the centre of Amsterdam doesn't look very much, but it's well worth a visit. Authentic Italian food and a great atmosphere - I would recommend highly.

Al bacaro* An intimate restaurant for those who appreciate serious Italian food ("slow food") Beyond pizza and lasagne. All off the food is choice and fresh. We had small raviolis ( tiny) with shaved truffles (better than any psychotropic magic mushrooms in Amsterdam) and my...More

After spending over six months living on the outskirts of Bari near a branch of "Eataly" we were delighted to find the newly-opened restaurant "Bacaro" serving excellent Italian food, especially dishes we knew from Puglia. The restaurant is utterly un-pretentious (no crystal glasses!), the kitchen...More

Great authentic Italian cooking. Small long restaurant. Small menu. Waiter/Manager is very helpful in taking your orders, borderline pushy, but hey thats the Italian way. Tasty and wholesome food. We had the variety of starters option for 22euros, worth it. Then had a sausage pasta...More

After a long flight and a few hours of exploring Amsterdam by foot we stumbled across this lovely little restaurant close to our hotel (with a bit of guidance from Trip Advisor). Staff was fantastic, food was authentic, and really hit the spot for a...More

The place is rather small. The menu also has only little options. Service is ok but nothing special. we will not go back as it is just another italian restaurant, without anything special to be mentionned.

Description
The taste and quality of traditional cuisine with an innovative twist, you can taste its maximum respect for nature. This philosophy is underscored by the use of fair trade products and ingredients from Italy and Netherlands. For a perfect combination with the regional dishes there are, on the wine card, many available by the glass, small scale and artisan producers from Italy. For these reasons we choose to collaborate with the projects “The Alliance between Cooks and Slow Food Presidia”. Presidia are projects of Slow Food that safeguard small-scale quality productions that use traditional methods.
